More likely they ran out of time and shoehorned one of the worst inventory management mechanics that I have experienced in a role playing game.

Worse than ME1 on console?

Worse than ME1 on console?

Don't know about that as I only play on PC. But here it seems to be the opposite; a game designed for consoles that was poorly ported to the PC.

There's also too little inventory space on top of lack of storage, junk items are mixed with important ones in the valuables tab, have to manually restock secondary potions for each party member... Despite some incredibly good things that this game has, I was getting too annoyed by these oversights and ceased playing for now.

I don't think I'm ever going to pre-order a game from Bioware.

Adding my vote to this.  I could care less about armor/weapons....it's the valuable items that take up space in my inventory that is driving me nuts.  I'm hoarding all of it out of fear that it will be needed for a requisition.

Valuables but it is upgrades that take space for me. I don't need a storage chest because there is very little stuff I want to save.

What kills me is the limit because given the meandering nature of the maps once I am in the field and have walked all over to get to "that" part of the map I don't want to have to go back. The north shore of the river in the Emerald Graves is such an example of a place a long way from anywhere that I wound up fiddling with the inventory.

The inventory UI is just awful too. You'd think you could at least sort my equipped weapons and armor to the top instead they have made it amazingly more time consuming to mess with your stuff than they needed to.

Voting for this + Armour Gallery with mannequins.

Need a space to show-off my hard earned epic equipment.

Agree.

Most of loot is several levels more than my characters. What is supposed to do with it, to sell?

I sold quite an amount of research materials until I understood valuables =/= junk.

Inventory management is clunky, at least for PC.

Combine that with exploring big quasi-open world and inventory limitations.

You have an entire stronghold with treasury, but not a storage chest?

I never thought I will miss DA2... Tactics, storage chest and changing mirror - these things were done right. Just why?

I find it really odd that there is no storage chest. We had it in Awakening and DA2, so why not in DAI?

Wasn't there one in DA:O's Warden DLC?

Ah yes, storage chests. We have dismissed that claim.

Damn, you know things are amiss when people publicly admit they're missing DA2...

It doesn't help that the chests operate on an RNG system, so you don't really know what you get when you open one, meaning I'm constantly having to destroy stuff in the field.

So yes hear hear for a storage.

I'm constantly warping back to Skyhold to outfit my companions and sell stuff if possible. It sucks up A LOT of time. And no, that is not entertainment. It can take up to an effing half hour sometimes.

Unfortunately I had to sell all my cool armor! Not enough space to keep it! :-D

Will the patches fix the lack of storage? This is a terrible oversight.

The Inquisitor while exploring Skyhold: "I could store an army".

I don't think there's a more immersion-breaking moment in the game as when she says that,

Maybe that's Bioware's way of trolling us?

Yes, quest-ish items are stored in the "valuables" section, and get sold along with all the other items in that category. Most of these items are used for research and requisitions. Its an awful design, but any item in your "valuables" inventory category which has a gold background/border is an item used in research, or requisitions, or some other side quest.

Oh... crap.  My fault for believing some review site that said it was just  the renamed "junk" catagory.  Glad I saw your post before I get TOO far along in the game, though I've already emptied out my valuables twice IIRC.
