I noticed on several maps (Especially the Oasis) that there's a LOT of verticality and no easy way down.

Until I had an idea.

I cast barrier on myself (I have it as maxed as I can, plus a crafted + barrier damage staff) and then proceeded to jump off the tallest cliff I could find. Barrier soaked the hit and my companions teleported to me a second later.

Problem solved :)

Now if only the char creator wasn't total bs....

Thanks for the tip. Barrier dive reminds me of bubble dive for paladins in WoW. Elevators are for the weak.

This also works with guard up

The horse doesn't take fall damage. It also has an awesome face-plant animation when it hits the ground.

So just mount up and jump off.

There *is* an upper limit on how far a horse can fall.  You get the black screen and teleport back effect.

I leapt off of the tall tower in the Hinterlands (the one with the bandit leader) all the way down to the ground without my horse dying.

If there is an upper limit, it's gotta be hard to reach -- that tower is very very very high.

Ha. This probably explains why my tank never gets hurt after charging an enemy and running off a cliff. Guard soaks up all the damage!
