I've read that in order to begin the process of upgrading Skyhold I need to read a note in the Inquisitor's quarters which the same post indicated was to the left of the throne as you face it. That door does not open. I've been to the Undercroft and spoken with the blacksmith who now has no further dialogue options.

What am I missing? How do I get to the Inquisitor's quarters? Thanks.

Leave Skyhold and come back

This I don't remember having to read any note, I just left, then came back and it was updated, and a new quest on what to do was in my journal

i talked to Solas and asked him about himself.

Then i found myself in my room and some of the places in Skyhold are literally built in a single day!

I think you mean the requisition orders which are in the quarters (to upgrade the tower, courtyard, and garden).

When you first unlock Skyrim the entire place is pretty much locked down. You can't even access your quarters. You have to leave and come back. However the cutscene with Solas involves you having to wake up so that kind of fast forwards everything to having the base initially set up.

Thanks for the replies. Talking to Solas did the trick.
