Is there some factor that effects loot quality? Highest item level i've gotten has been 13 in 80-90 chests with handfull of rares.
Does what chest you buy matter? Have always bought the 1200 chest for item/gold ratio.

would it not depend on your character level? i would guess the more you progress the better items you will get? i dont know if thats the case or not, just a thought.
So a lvl 20 spaming chests and runs will get the best gear?
I still get low level gear on high level characters. RNG is RNG
RNG ... ive herd people in lobbys saying you need to play perilous and then buy a chest, tried to explain that it wouldnt work because well RNG is a b&^%h.
yeah its deffo random, i have been getting level 1 items on my lvl 20 keeper >.< still not got anything unique or any decent rares. RNG really hates me.
My first ever chest gave me a item level 18 bow, so I think it's totally random, regardless of level
Not sure on quality, most of the whites I've gotten have been better than purples because of higher item level lol
My first chest had a Blue Fire staff, not sure what level (at work atm). I have 2 Purples so far and neither for my class =(
For my first 30 hours I didn't get a single armor upgrade item higher than lvl 7. After reaching 130+ account level(the number next to your name) I've started getting shitloads of lvl 19-23 upgrade items(21% spirit resist ftw), even rare ones. The weapons have also started feeling slightly better, but not as much as the upgrade parts. So I really do think it's not just RNG, it depends on your account level.
However, since my personal experiences are in no way a reliable statistic, if someone else who's above lvl 120 could confirm this I'd feel more sure about it.
I had the experience as the player above me.
I have 70+ hours played on multiplayer and i am rank 190.
I am cashing gold until i get 24k, then i buy 20 large chest. I figured i got more high lvl items as my rank goes up. Right now lvl 20+ items are common for me (but still get lvl 1 sometimes). This is not a fact, just my personnal experience.
For me rank seems to affect loot level a bit but not quality, that's still total random.
Right now i have a lvl 20+ weapons for each class, all of them are blue exept my common 1handed. It gets more and more difficult to find an upgrade ![]()
One thing that could confirm this tendance is i got my first purple rune when i reached ~150. I was stucked before with blue one, but maybe that's just rng.
An other other thing i noticed : Ingame drop card in treasure room. When i started playing, i always got lvl 1/2 weapons, and as far as i rank up, i got better level items too, (still shitty) but at least i got lvl 9/10 item now in game. And i really saw a progression, few days ago, i got lvl 5/7 items, etc...
Once again, those informations are just my personnal xperience and stats from the Pov of someone who played a lot and spent is gold in the same way since he start playing.
Sorry for my bad english ![]()
I would like to see your results... I think I will try this too.
My first large chest after hitting rank 120 and I get a purple level 21 staff with 110 DPS, my first unique rarity weapon. It's looking like this theory has some basis.
I'm on the top 100 leaderboard, have all but a few classes @ lvl 20, and play a crapton and as far as I can tell it's all random. I still get spammed with white sub-ilvl5 items constantly. Haven't had a non-rune epic in a couple days now, and other than rings, haven't had a >ilvl15 epic ever.
I just bought 10 large chests at rank 173. Got 2x Blade of red birth, unique lvl 23. Dualwield kit complete lel.
What about harder difficulties? Do they give better loot?
I've grinded the hell out of Routine difficulty with all 3 starter classes and so far, no alternate character unlocks, but some fairly good weapons/armor for my existing classes which leads me to believe you can only get that type from Routine.

I think loot has to based on either hours played, rank points, or how many total chests you opened.
First couple days I rarely saw a blue when opening large chests. Now i get almost 2 rares on every large chest I open.

I am currently on 115, with 70 hours played and I hardly get any blues from large/medium chests. I've only ever received two-three purples in my life time, both of them I couldn't use.

I am almost certain it depends on your rank. But I didn't really start to feel it until 120-130. Like I said in an earlier post, I opened ten chests today and got 2x lvl 23 unique daggers. Now I opened 10 more and got several 20-23 blues and a -10% cooldown amulet. Rank 176 and around 72 hours played.
In top 15 in pc leaderboard, over 247 points. The only level 20+ purples I have are 21 dagger, 20 shield (identical 2nd deleted), and 2x 21 bows. Still using a white quality one-hand sword, blue staff, blue 2 hander, and 1 blue dagger.
Trolololol chests are still giving me the same level 1-22 randomness and haven't gotten any better for high level purples, in fact they seem to be getting worse. It's been about 40 hours of gameplay since my last level 20+ purple. You guys think you're being trolled, wait till you're at the point where you have 20+ superb runes and have only a 1/50 chance when opening a large chest to get a better weapon to use one of those runes on.
There was this one day where I got really lucky with purples, it was just purple purple purple chest after chest, and even had 3 purples in one chest (none 20+ weapons in that chest tho), and I think maybe I had around 150 points on the leaderboard. Maybe after 200 everything goes bad or something, dunno :/.

I have to agree with you here I am right around 210 points and never had a purple over level 15, something seems to get stuck with the RNG and it keeps repeating the same low item level and quality of items.
Last night when I was 115 or so I got 3 uniques in one Large chest, 2 bows 1 ring, 1) Longbow of the Griffon 2) Perseverance and 3) Superb ring of staggering. I got my first Unique when I was around level 6.
So as always it has NOTHING to do with your level people, it's RNG same as always there's nothing you can do to improve your RNG or to make it worse, it is 100% random.
So far I've nothing over level 16 at all. Like 2 blues. I was buying chests up to level 60 and I stopped. Someone told me the chests get better after level 100 so I'm saving gold till then.
