Hahaha.....I am not sure to laugh or to cry....there is sound effects for clothing? This is my 6. realisation I am missing something connected to sounds ( background music, banter, fight music, fight talking, menu clicks?, and clothing sound)

Yeah i thought the same thing.  It took me completely by surprise when it happened because I had no idea armor had a sound effect.  It never did before.  All of a sudden I'm running around and my armor was making all kinds of sounds as I moved.  It even seemed like the blood effects on armor got better.  Then I zoned out via the quest map and the sounds stopped and never came back.

I have the armour Allan has in that video and it definitely doesn't clink like his does in that video. So that's one more sound we're missing? Joys! I only have footsteps when they walk and the odd grunt when I make them jump and a harder sounding landing etc.

Seriously, what else are we missing? :(

I don't know if it matters but my party members were wearing the warden armor (medium and heavy).

Make a comparison video so you have a documented case.

Me running around in armour with warrior companions. This is how my game has always been so if we are supposed to have sound effects for armour, I sure as hell haven't heard any... If people want me to record more stuff I will happily do it, it's quite simple on the PS4.

There is definitly an audio bug in this game.

I have re-rolled at least four characters in order to escape the banter bug. At first I thought that it was related to performance, codes, war table etc. but the only reliable solution i have done is to simply re-roll if there is close to none banter in the hinterlands.

With this new and fourth character:

1. banter fire every 20 mins or so. environmental comments included in this estimate.

2. combat shouts (focus on the Warrior!!)

3.after combat comments (you cannot hurt me anymore)

4.music fire more often while exploring (short burst of 5-10 seconds of music before fading out).

5.No music in Val R. (I had constant music in Val R while I had no audio of the above. I think constant music in Val R is a bug)

6.War drums plays sometimes in Skyhold, sometimes not. I have not detected a pattern here. I find it annoying when war drums Plays in skyhold.

Only difference between characters is that a choose the default voice type for the fourth character...I do not think this was the gamechanger, but then again compared to the other outwordly fixes out there...

At this time the game is perfect for me...it is a shame about the bug though. Bioware should fix it asap

When I get home I'll try and make a video of it.  Armor does make noise.  Leather creaks and metal clangs.  I've been able to get my game to do it a few times.  But its very hard to duplicate.  The only way I got it to work was by zoning in and out of an area multiple times.

Another symptom of this bug (apologies if already posted): I'm romancing Dorian and when I chose the option "let's do something together", Dorian shoots off a one liner and then there's nothing.  I realized this was a bug when it finally worked correctly during my last play session - he's actually supposed to suggest something to do.

He suggests stuff like going for a walk while he talks about Tevinter or grabbing a bottle of brandy for me... that's correct, right? Maker, if I've missed anything with him... Ha.

I'm trying to retrace my steps on when I noticed the sound vastly improved in the game.  I was messing around the sound settings on my PS4 trying to figure out why certain sounds kept cutting in and out.  I remember closing the game, going into the PS4 audio settings and changing the output from Linear to Bitstream (Dolby).  Then I relaunched the game and zoned from the war table into Western Approach and thats when I noticed the audio improved and those armor sounds I never heard before.  But once I zoned out of Western Approach the armor sounds disappeared and the audio quality (cutting in and out) came back.

Yeah, that's right.  With me (up until my last play session when it finally triggered correctly), I would ask him to do something, he would make a joke about killing people we don't know and then there was nothing - no suggestion about what to do or anything.  Now he's like "let's critique the uniforms of your troops" or "let's play cards".  This is totally new.  Not sure it is part of the "no/low banter bug", but I suspect it may be.

We need someone on the PC version to dig around the audio files and see if there is an audio file for those armor sounds.  That will tell you if they are supposed to be there or not.

It could be just another Dorian bug. His romance seems to bug out a lot - crashes after the kiss, his personal quest not triggering etc. But who knows?

Also my bard is singing atm, there's instruments playing too but she isn't holding anything... That's not right, is it? Maker. Now there are subtitles but she isn't singing or holding an instrument but there is an instrument playing. What the heck. I'll record and upload these oddities too.

I think it has something to do with the save game files.  My audio problems become very apparent right after zoning on the PS4.  There is a terrible lag between action/sounds playing for a few seconds after you load a new area.  Like if I load into a new area and immediately hit the options button, there is a 1-2 second delay between hitting the button and the menu sound playing.  And sound effects like walking and stuff, there's always a delay of a few seconds and its always after loading while the save game icon is spinning in the corner.

Funny...

In my first playthrough there wasn't much bantering. But in this, my second, I think there's banter all the time.

What triggers this?

An update would be nice, even if it's just to say they haven't found anything yet. Instead, they leave us in the dark.

There was an update. It said: "People are not having trouble with party banter. Working as intended."

This bug is frustrating because you don't even know what's causing it, and the "fixes" here don't always work for everyone. Sigh.

Okay so I have the bug, tried the mount/dismout thing, fast travel etc and everything else, and it didn't work.

BUT I tried cleaning up my saves, only leaving the last one and the autosaves. So far the fade nerds (Solas and Cole) won't shut the frick up and it's just beautiful. It was literally 3 banters in 3 minutes.

Before that I always did a little victory dance if it happened every 30 minutes or so.

Hope it helps.

There was supposed to be sound effects for armor? All I get is footsteps/jump noises/harvesting noises. Was there supposed to be persistent music in areas too or is the 10 seconds of music when you first enter an area all there is?

10-5 second music burst is definitely a bug, same as lack of armor sounds.

I'm about to finish my 2nd playthrough, this time i've got more party banter (still not so much, avg 1 banter per ~90 min), also music was the problem in both cases i rarely had the music, combat music after Hinterlands was almost non existent and now i see that i should hear my armor? I could only hear my footsteps, meh... :(

Bioware never said it wasn't a bug. They only said they hadn't been able to reproduce it yet and suggested some possible workarounds in the meantime. In fact, Mark Darrah confirmed this as a bug a week ago and said they're still investigating it:
