Changing my sound settings didn't do anything, but I went from the high quality to Night. I'll try Night to TV back to Night and see if that helps.
I decided to reroll my dwarven archer and I haven't been testing so much as observing while I'm playing. I've been playing normally and since I've got Hinterlands almost memorized (ah, nothing like knowing where that lvl 12 rift and those lvl 12 dragonlings are ahead of time, right,) I'm starting to go through it at a decent pace.
I don't have my mount yet and one of the only differences between my two games is that I'm taking some more time to do quests rather than get all the camps done at once. I also rest at every campsite whenever I get to one or need to return to one. I noticed something odd.
The last bit of banter I got was before I headed through a gate where the NPC that has you go find the apostate caches in the Crossroads. Sorry if I don't have his name memorized. Starts with a W. Williks, Willis, something like that.
After I went through there, a lot of silence except for comments about the situation. I could be way off base here, but I noticed that's when the banter stopped. The music frequency dropped a lot when I went away from the Templar camp. I'll play for longer and let you guys know how it goes. I'm not doing the idle test, although once I get my mount I am going to do the mount/dismount/rest trick, because that does help for the short term.
Otherwise, forgive the lack of serious testing. I've done so over the last three days, so I'm just going to play the game normally. If I see anything else, I'll let you guys know.
