Can you guys try repairing your game through origin? I did that at the early stages of my playthrough since my game got bugged and I can confirm now that I get banters regular(i think) since I tested for 2 hours and I got 5 banters which was always the case even before but i tested just to be sure.
Also, it seems that the time when you'll get a banter is determined. I managed to save before I got a banter, then I reloaded 6 times and I got 6 banters on that exact point.

I've repaired through Origin a couple of times with no change to the frequency of banter.

I've tried repairing and reinstalling many times as well as all of the other recommendations. Definitely not working. As for determined banter, I think some of it is. The interactive bit with Varric at the very beginning always triggers but after that it's only scenery comments.

So how common is it meant to be for the Inquisitor to be able to interject into banters? Because that's never happened for me out in the world, only in specific quests where it's hardcoded.

Not sure... In 60 hours I had one. I could comment on Blackwall and Dorian's bickering. I called them cute

I've tried on fullscreen and fullscreen windowed, it doesn't make a difference on banter.

I even tried redownloading the whole game. Yes. 25 gb at 800 kb/s (internet speed in Italy is atrocious)
It actually got worse ahah
I can also confirm that sometimes rest music is missing.
No battle music, no music in Val Royaux, music popping in and out while exploring, no banter, no combat dialogue, no banter interactions. Seriously, what a mess.

Omg, I am so happy that this is being looked into. Thanks JeffZero for starting this thread!
Second playthrough and still little banter. It's more than before, usually after establishing a camp or entering a new area, and that's it. The mount, dismount, rest trick worked a few times (I was amazed by the amount of banter), but then everybody went silence again.

I feel you. I also re-downloaded the game despite my terrible 300kb/s average speed. It really shows how desperate I am to get banter back in my game.

I have 68 hours of game play. How do I shared my game saved files so you can look into it.

Spoiler
That's not banter, that's just an environmental cue for when you enter the house in Redcliffe.
And it was the Venetori that did it, not the rebel mages.

God I want to play this game so badly, but I just can't.
At least IGN, Eurogamer and other websites noticed the issue and wrote articles about it. I hope Bioware realizes how bad the current situation is.

Yes. Does anyone know how I share my saved game files. I was under the impression they were already saved when I logged into the fourms with their server. Isn't that the reason for this thread.

Allan Schumacher stated earlier in this thread that he's received enough save files already to do a proper analysis ![]()

I'm wondering that as well, the only interactive banter I've had was also only quest specific like when I went to Val Royeaux. Nothing outside of that yet.

Some of these issues could be phantom problems that arent actually problems because peoples expectations are skewed
