I've noticed that with quests, too! I've even had a couple keep popping up as completed for a minute afterward.

 

Unfortunately, the devs don't seem to want to reveal their script-secrets, so the best we can do is guess.  :P

But I definitely think you could be right with the bugged script, since it doesn't affect every player.

 

 

i think that could have something to do with it. i have this ongoing problem with the quests in which after i view completed quests in my log and then return to the actual game, a lot of them pop back up on my screen to tell me they're completed even if they were completed much earlier -- the biggest example of this i can remember is when i finished upgrading skyhold's gardens and checked my completed quests, came back to be greeted by an announcement that i had completed the 'lotus and root' quest from literally the first two quests of the game. if it matters, i've also had a few inner circle quests simply refuse to be marked as completed and remain sitting in my log for eternity.

That could be an explanation of why I've gotten a decent amount of party banter both while standing idly and running around in the Hinterlands, which I've pretty much cleared by now, and some in the Storm Coast when I stand idle, but I don't think I've had any party banter in the Exalted Plains, even resting/fast-traveling, standing idle etc. I have barely explored the exalted plains.

Yes, i have the "Quest Completed" pop up after I check the journal and close it too. Especially with the Red Lyrium quest for Varric. You only need 12 for the quest, but there is more of them to smash, and every time i got to one, even though i`ve already completed the quest, i got that pop up.

Wow, I didn't even think of this! I thought that maybe those animals were just caught in the crossfire, but it makes sense that if they take environmental damage they would turn hostile.

 Nah, no crossfire, there were no aggressive mobs around, so no one to chase them, i know that mobs sometimes fight animals, like bears chasing nugs and rams, that was not the case. Plus, i`m pretty sure characters got that problem too, it`s kinda annoying actually, they programmed to teleport to you if your char is too far away, but sometimes they spawn too high, drop and loose hp, mah potions!

So its about the same 'unknown' issue battlefail 4 had up until some months after release sound cutting out voiceovers not playing yep everything confirms ( to no small part its the same engine )

 

same engine so here it goes the issues match 95% devs might want to investigate this...

 

1 sound cutting out in battlefail 4 on some maps <<>> npcs have/make/do sounds/grunts after the entity itself is dead i keep hearing hostile npc grunting after they died or its delayed in DAI

2 voiceovers not playing in battlefail 4 <<>>party banter is nonaudible or its somewhat being delayed in DAI

3 music playing only 1 track ( or its not looping the one its supposed to ) only when level loads i.e exit an underground instance music plays one then nofing ( wich is a damn shame music is wonderfull on DAI )

4 sometimes i keep hearing double sounds as in activate one skill doesnt matter wich class/character the sound plays once then plays again like some wierd stutter ( not graphical stutter audio stutter)

5 the issues are present on all maps in DAI

 

120 hrs in issues still present and its a real shame the first 30 hrs or so i thought its was liek this then only finding out ( on these forums ) that something odd is happening with the ingame sound....music...party talk/banter

sameish audio issues as in bf4 but in DAI sound is even more important since its an singleplayer experience...95% of the time ( devs should really investigate wether its related since it uses the same engine )

Has anyone noticed in the menu screen the ambient noise (I couldn't really call it music...) skips and starts over every couple of seconds? I play the game with headphones so it's REALLY noticeable but it's actually incredibly jarring.... It is like nails on a chalkboard. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to spend any time in the menu. :/

I am playing on PC and am experiencing low banter, low  music, and no music in Val. R. The only time I ever heard music there was the cutscene when I first arrived.

Last night I reinstalled the game. I put my save file back in the game, and loaded one of my earliest, post Val R. saves, and there was still no music there. I just loaded a save that was right before my first trip to Val. R. The cutscene had music, there was none after. Upon leaving and returning, still no music.

 

:(

(Edit: Before reinstalling, I did the resting "trick" and idled in camp and was able to trigger banter every 10 minutes or so. The music still seemed sparse. I would only hear about 20 seconds of music, and then nothing for a while. Not sure if that's working as intended.)

About that, yeah. If you're going an hour without banter it's a bug

I see. I get 3-4 banters an hour and for me it seems adequate enough. i just think that having one every 10 minutes will exhaust all the banters easily because I just finished the quest with hawke and I already logged over 120 hours.

Wow! Yeah I don't get that at all such beautiful music!

Anyone else not getting this background music?

I'm not getting that either, at least not consistently.  

The first time I went there, no music.   The second time I went there I got a surprise when that music started, it was a amazing.  Then every time there after I haven't gotten the music.  There seem to be a number of audio issues with the game... :/

I think you misunderstood me.   :)

 

Perhaps the way the mount system is coded into the game is what is causing the issue.  

 

I'm shooting in the dark here, but I think something about the way the mount dismisses your party might have something to do with it.  I know it doesn't make a difference if you have a mount or not.  I hit about 10 hours before I got mine and I had a lot of silence as well.

 

Edit: I'm just guessing and I don't know about coding.  Again, just shooting in the dark and spit-balling ideas.  

Either way I wish they'd given mounts to the whole party :(

So, yesterday I played through a large portion of the game with my new Inquisitor.

 

I've made it a habit to rest every time I fat travel, go back to or otherwise stumble upon a campsite. I never got any mounts in this pt.

 

Anyway, I seem to have gotten more banter in this pt.

This might be confirmation bias but come to think of it te more active and busy areas dont give me banter compared to quieter less active parts!

I'm having the same issue, 70 hours in and my companions are so quiet! Also having the Lotus and root quest constantly popping up as completed and the Area Requisitions cycling repeatedly (i.e. I'll complete it, complete the next then it's right back to the first one, over and over) - Really hope this gets patched and thanks to all who've already contributed. :)

Hello, im having several issues on the xbox1, where during dialog it freezes or i get no sound when there talking. I believe i have over 50 hrs plus and its quite annoying to go through the game when its freezing to the point of sometimes having to restart to see if i can get the dialog to go through.

Hopefully this gets fixed and updtaed the game is a blast and im having fun with it but the bugs getting in the way!

After testing my own saves on a fresh install, I loaded Teagle's save and heard Val R. music. His character's waist was also see through.

 

I am so bummed out. :(

I tested it on my Install after doing a Repair on the game.

 

Music in Val R. works when loading it but not with my Saves.

 

Weird. :wacko:

I know this is my first post and usually keep quiet, just reading, but this glitch/bug really annoys me! I spent more than 90 hours in this game and had been disappointed at first, because i had thought that the devs had just decided to radically cut party banter.

Got curious to look around in forums because my boyfriend plays the game as well (in another language) and i noticed that his companions chat quite lively.

The ones talking with each other most of the time (i can count the banter on one hand for the entire game so far) are cassandra and iron bull, although i switch around from time to time. Also have the quest-thingy, and sometimes no sound during fighting.

 

I really care for "small" things like banter, ambients, etc., so now i can't decide if i should continue to play (too far in the game now anyway probably), or if i should wait for a fix :/.

I got an idea, is there digital download/hard copy relationship with the bugs? For example mine DA is downloads from origins, and i got banter bug. Maybe some people who downloaded it or bought the physical cd can comment on that?

I agree, it's positively heart-wrenching. For many fans, the narrative is of paramount importance. There are many thousands (or more) impacted by this bug, and for each of us, once we learn the truth -- that there is a wealth of script we're all missing at current -- we must ask ourselves if it's better to carry on with a gimped experience or put it all aside for an as-yet unknown length of time despite having waited perhaps years for Inquisition's release.

It's not an easy decision for some, and I feel for them. For me it was pretty simple: Gaider and his gang are half the reason I still play video games at all. I won't miss their writing. I'll wait. And I'll help. And maybe together we can cut down on the ETA until a fix a little bit. :)

Again, sorry for my english.

Hey, I think I found something that worked for me. I don't know if it will work for everyone or if people already know about it.

So, at moment I have music in the open field, Skyhold AND in Val Royeaux (YAY! FIRST TIME) and 3 Banter in one hour without doing something funny.

I disabled all functions under the option Account (Share usage data, always log me in, Upload yadada), didn't log in ingame in my account, turned off my Antivir and disabled Origin In Game.

This was one hour ago and until now everything is fine. Sometimes the music in the field will stop, but will started again after a fight.

i had the digital download and the bug, my boyfriend the discs and no bug. I uninstalled, installed via the cds, and still have the bug. Copied a savegame-file from him and will look if i will have the bug on my pc with his file.
