UPDATE:  The hair mesh files ELE08 gave me are working great (Thanks again ELE08) and I figured out a really good color code for thinning Grey Hair.

If any of you guys want to try out the hairstyle, and you're Star Trek: TNG fans you might give it a whirl on my new and improved Jean Luc Shepard model.

The Face Code for Jean Luc Shepard is...

643.8WQ.QGW.K21.F1W.W99.UGI.5EW.HL7.1W8.132.5

If you don't use Gibbed the face code is set to give Shepard a shaved head look by choosing a hair color which blends into Shepard's skin tone.

If you are using the Gibbed Save Editor though you can add the hair mesh file names in under texture paramaters in the RAW tab and set the hair color to grey under the Vector paramaters and it looks pretty damned awesome.

ELE08 wrote...

This is a scalp texture.  In gibbed for "Hair Mesh" type None.

In Texture Parameters:

HED_Scalp_Diff:         BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Geezer.HMM_HIR_Gez_Diff
HED_Scalp_Norm:     BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Geezer.HMM_HIR_Gez_Norm
HED_Scalp_Spec:      BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Geezer.HMM_HIR_Gez_Mask
HED_Tang:                   BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Geezer.HMM_HIR_Gez_Tang

The Color Code I used for thinning grey hair under Vector Paramaters is..

B: 0.2431  G: 0.2627  R: 0.3137 with A(transparency): set to 0.6 so that the hair looks like its thining a little bit.

Oh and once again if anyone would be willing to take a screenshot of Jean Luc in action, I'd really appreciate it.  I want to upload it to the Face Codes Database; but using my Canon to try and take a snapshot of my low def TV isn't cutting it.

Hmm...tried to make an Alyx Vance Shepard for the third time. This time, I used Jamil Mullen as the basis, since they modeled Alyx after her anyway. Not sure how well it turned out. There really isn't a nose or lip option that matches hers. Here is the face code below. I'm playing on 360, so I really can't get a screen shot. Unless I used my Blackberry for an off screen shot.

Scully faces where all the rage in Mass Effect 1. When importing mine, it didn't quite work (like a lot of people). Here's a first attempt at making it again. Makes for a great engineer. If she gets abducted by the collectors you can just pretend she's taking time off to have a baby...

Nice work....came out way better than my Alyx Vance. I'm still not satisfied with the results of my attempt. This will probably be last attempt.

I have five Shepards, and in my honest opinion they're all among the best Shepards I've seen--but I fully admit my bias. Since I play ME on the 360, I can't get screenshots. If someone makes any of them on the pc, would you post the pic here so I can add it to the MEfaces website?

William Shepard: 551.ED1.GFP.F51.HAQ.161.GKF.66W.FP1.1G4.647.6
Katherine Shepard: 723.WGB.A15.B51.FGM.17W.CDL.75F.GQ4.683.4F7.256
Enrique Shepard: 233.71B.GWF.431.8IW.1AM.DW1.51W.PN6.125.C27.6
Serena Shepard: 553.W1A.NLC.F51.ABH.1DW.C3Q.21W.LRS.KC1.626.316
Simon Shepard: 542.F1C.DJM.E51.F1W.1C1.NRH.3DW.3K7.1B8.432.6

William makes a great paragon. Katherine is great as either a paragon or a renegade, and you can vary the hair/eye/skin/makeup color quite a bit, and she'll still look incredible. Enrique has a rugged no-funny-business look to him. Serena has a prominent jaw and cheeks that're very distinct compared to most of the custom femSheps I've seen out there. She's inspired by Katee Sackhoff/Starbuck. I won't say she "is" Sackhoff, but when you see her, you should notice the similarities. Simon makes a great renegade. For ME2, I removed all of his facial hair and lightened his skin tone all the way to show effects of being dead. This ended up working great with the facial scars from being a renegade, and the eyes will look incredibly scary in some shots.

I wanted to make a femshep using some less commonly used features yet somehow they all end up looking kind of the same...hmmm.  Here she is.

I'm using a texmod that adds a smokier eyeliner and more defined lip.
Version B of face texmod--->social.bioware.com/project/2572/
The code is good unmodded though and actually the difference is pretty subtle.  Changed her eye color to blue/grey using gibbed (R=0.556 G=0.556 B=0.556.)

I forgot that I could take pictures with my webcam. The picture quality won't be great, and it these don't do them full justice, but you can get the idea. Here is Katherine and Simon. I will upload the rest soon.

That's another nice one, and I was going to mention how she looked similar to your others but you already pointed that out. Your problem with the similarities probably has to do with your preference for the ideal woman's face type. (?)
Is her hairstyle modded btw? I don't recognize the bun style.

Indeed, I do have a preference and it's hard to get away from when trying to make an attractive face.

I think I've wrung the most out of the creator that I'm going to get.  I'm happy with the above code, I think it animates really well and I've eliminated any weirdness at
certain angles (mostly around where the cheek meets the corner of the
mouth.) Not that I don't like experimenting with character creators, but the ME one really does kind of suck.  Also would have saved me many hours if Bioware had just made a good default face for femshep from a model like they did with Sheploo.  Maybe a scan of Monica Bellucci...

Also the hairstyle is not modded, it's just not used very much (it's one click right of the default.)

Yes, the creator needs improvement but for the time being, I really just want full 360 degree viewing angles and different lighting options. I don't think that's too much to ask for in ME3.  I don't feel inclined to make any new femSheps as I'm satisfied with the one I've used for both games but I'm pretty tempted to revisit the maleShep I made for the first and maybe post it here. I just dislike Meer's voice enough to put me off for another playthrough. Posted Image

Also, you must have a lot of patience to sit through the intro--god knows how many times--for each of those characters you made, and not counting re-do's. I think that if face creation weren't such a hassle, and  had I not become so attached to my "official" Shep, I would make a dozen more characters.

Not that much patience.  I disabled all the intro movies and toggle to firefox during the unskippable ones.  I am pretty bored with running through a flaming Normandy though :)

"He seems like a nice guy" - nobody who isn't blind as
a bat would ever say that. Neither can you say "He looks like a serial killer"
and survive the reprisal. In fact, it's smart to shut up so as not to ****** him
off. Because he IS a serial killer.

Using Facial Structure 7 may have something to do with that. :P It's gotta be the most commonly used one. For a reason, certainly, a reason probably to do with ideal types as Flies_by_Handles says. But if you're looking for less commonly used parts of the creator, I'd recommend staying away from 7.

Anyhow, nice job. :b: I have to try gibbed out one of these days, the gray eyes really are a nice touch.

I've been struggling for so long to create a femshep that isn't ugly enough to scare even the reapers, and failed miserably. Thank you so much for creating this face, she looks perfect! Definitely going to try her out, since the faces I create look disturbing at best..

What annoys me is how you have to wait through huge cutscenes and save joker before you can model your Shepard, it should be the opposite like in original ME. And there should be an option to skip the cutscenes, because when there's something wrong with my Shepard's face I always notice ingame, not while I'm designing her..

Anywhey... Here's my one and only Shepard that I'm addicted enough to not to have finished the game without, ever. I've started four other characters and never been able to finish because it didn't feel "real". I think I'm a little too attatched.

Posted Image

I think I did a fair job.

And thanks for putting the page up by the way, some really cool Shepards on there.

Well firstly thanks so much to Vesperknight for the most exellent MassEffectFaces website. I just love that. It has been great seeing the most excellent and beautiful and interesting characters people have displayed there. I love being able to mess around with the character creator and this site has been a great resource. Well  that and the Gibbeds are the two best for ME. Gold stars and love hearts to you for making the game easier and more fun for me and thousands of others! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I really like my blonde Shepherd, I called her Zion and she is a paragon!

I am hoping to use her in ME 3 as I have kept her true to the Kaiden romance. So my fingers are crossed for Bioware to bring him back properly.
