not necessarily on topic but is anyone else finding their me1 imports looking a bit better looking than anything they can come up with me2? i know it certainly holds true to my me1 femshep.

I've got the same impression. So, to enjoy ME2 the most, it seems necessary to start from ME1!

Might as well post a pic of Enola here (looking even better in full size). The final incarnation of her keeps her hair in a ponytail. Wonder how she will turn out in ME2...

That depends, in my opinion.  My (custom appearance) manshep import came out looking identical, but my femshep import lost her freckles Posted Image

I posted a comparison of my ME1 and ME2 femshep on pg. 433 of the femshep fan thread if you want to take a lookPosted Image

Comments on the latest Sheps posted on this page:

@Rob - that haircut for your lady is really good for her, don't you think? Softens her up, making her look like a nice person. It's a pity that Bioware didn't supply us with more variety in feminine hairstyles. Checked the comparison with the ME2 version of her. It might have been the cold light in that pic, but her blush comes out a bit strong in the transference. I think she would have looked better without it. But it was good to see that the colour of her lipstick stayed rather hot, without overdoing it. I contemplated that colour for one of my femsheps, but was afraid it would turn too much in ME2.

@PrinceLionheart - regarding "better" pics, they might come larger in size, but the angle is good there. Joshua appear quite athletic and powerfully built under that armour. He's also rather unique-looking among malesheps seen around here. Good job!

@Bio D - one kind of expects fast action and trouble from that Jonathan. Fitting a renegade. I can see why you like him.

I really like to see the variety in good Shepard creations in these fora. Quite inspirational. ;)

Yeah, I thought the haircut went well with her appearance.  After all, she is a nice person - Her paragon bar was fully maxed out in ME1 Posted Image
But I know what you mean, there's only a few unique hairstyles, and even less realistic ones.  There's always modding, but I don't like tampering with all those carzy codes...
As for make-up, the blush did look a bit off cause of the light, it looks better in other settings.
And yes, I kinda regretted the lipstick in ME1, but it looks better now.  Surprisingly...

Anyways, thanks for the feedbackPosted Image

ME1 versions follows once I have a few good screenshots. And yes, with one exception my best-looking ME2 characters are all ME1 imports. Strange, really, considering the character picture on the ME1 generation screen is more misleading than its ME2 equivant.
The reason may be that I don't play ME2-only characters except to test things, so far more work went into the ME1 versions. I usually try to re-create ME1 characters in ME2 in order to have a face code. Most of the time, that doesn't work so well.

@Brumbellll - you got yourself a lady of mystique there, a quiet woman of secret thoughts and history, but a good strategist. Am I right? I may have a thing againmst blush, however, because I believe she'd be more to her advantage without it.

@skuid - as far as I can see, your commander has become more refined with those delicate eyebrows and more mature complexion. I like the changes. I'm also impressed with your shots. It's as if you've managed to find a photographer in-game and told this figure to take pictures of the heroine and virtually forward the results to you.

@sagequeen - a woman who wants to be in the midst of the action there. Like to see a character with some soul with a different haircut. Where did she find that armour: in the mods boutique?

@Ieldra - I've never managed to create something interesting with that hairstyle, but you did. She probably looks real good in heavy armour. And I agree with you regarding the character generation screen for ME1: they don't come out quite as you designed them. So you work partly in the dark and often in vain. I really hope Bioware improves this section of the game for ME3, because success for the gamer here means a lot for the immersion factor and overall enjoyment of the game.

@Domar:

I have another one with that hairstyle:

Posted Image

No face code, though - ME1 import. Which is why I haven't posted her before.

The problem with that hairstyle is that the hair is so violently drawn up, which tends to make them look severe. But the other bun styles look boring, so this one is one of only three female hairstyles I like - as it happens, they're all in the last five posts.

Were mods used for all these faces, I'm stuck playing on my 360, and I have trouble making the face a bit more defined around the chin region.

@Alessar - I have posted one face on this page (apart from the one below) and in case your question regards this one, too, the answer is no, I haven't used any mod for that or any other face I've created. Just the PC version of the game. What do you mean by "more defined"?

I'm thinking of opening a thread where all ME1 faces are given codes for recreation as well. It would take a little more work for anybody to copy someone else's shep from ME1 than from ME2, but it's not difficult to do so, if the creator kept track of how he or she did it.

@Ieldra - another creation of yours looking better than any of mine with that hairstyle! I think you described its drawback well - giving the character a rather severe look. Difficult to find a face suiting it. I don't understand why Bioware, among all possible hairstyles in the world, settled for ten of which half look almost identical from the front. Regarding these bun styles, however, I think the one below is OK. Especially with an Oriental-looking face, since you kind expect people from that part of the world to sometimes wear their hair like samurais or something...

This was for an earlier incarnation of Enola. She has since moved on to ponytails. Makes her look like a Maya warrior at times.

What does "DA" mean? Edit: deviantArt?

@Homey - that's two good-looking Shepards, especially in the "in-game" shots! I must say that Jailee is one of the best femsheps with that haircut which I have seen. Her cute face fits it perfectly ;)

Thanks. She's my first custom character ever, imported from ME1. I spent prolly close to an hour with her figuring out how the face builder worked. ^_^

Male Shep was kinda modeled after my face, hence the name "I'm". Just my weird sense of humor I guess.

I see. I've never played DA, so it was hard to guess. ;)

So this thread lacks some air of Dragon Age? Maybe you should supply it?
