Can anybody figure out what the facial textures are for the default male shepard, if any? It'd be much appreciated.

Is it possible to view the face code in ME1 after starting, or maybe extract it from a config or save file somehow?
If I can find a way to get it, I'll post it.  No problem.  Glad you like!  :D

Maybe it will show me when I import her into ME2 for my second play-through.  I am near the end of ME1 now, I think.  I played them in reverse order for some bizarre reason.  My first play was as male Paragon Soldier in ME2.  I much prefer this character though.

It seems that face codes for imported characters don't show up at all in ME2, but I'm in the process of putting something together that can generate ME1 sliders and ME2 facecodes from ME1 save imports, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm still testing it out at the moment, so if you want you can send me a save file after you've imported your character and I'll see what I can do.

I see what you mean about face codes not showing up when importing an ME1 character.

I tried a manual re-creation in ME2, to obtain a face code, but couldn't quite do it - she wasn't the same.

So... are you ready for that save game yet? Posted Image

I think the default face makes the beard look more complete, plus I can add hairstyles to it.
Edit: after some more playing with the default textured character, i feel that the kaidan texture fits my character more.

I've been trying to add the Beret to my new shep, but I can't seem to get it to work correctly. My shep has the beret, but looks completely bald. (actually - unless the skin is vaguely pockmarked on the back of the head, it looks like her hair turned to match her skin tone). I was hoping to get the beret shown either just above, or the more orange looking one earlier in the thread using these:

Female:

Hair Morph: BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Beret.HMF_HAT_Brt_MDL

HAIR_Diff: BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Beret.HMM_HGR_BRT_Diff_Stack

HAIR_Norm: BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Beret.HMM_HGR_Brt_Norm

Is there something I'm missing? Did I have to give my shep a certain hairstyle before modding it?

What you should do is rather than add it as a hair, add it as a new helmet in the coalesced.ini
A good guide on doing this is in the texture mod group, I'll add the link tomorrow morning when I wake up.  Oh and btw you can't get hair under berets unless your using a texture under it.
heres the link:

I've been wondering if it would be possible to change the color of the texture of hair shown in the pic of kaidan's textures. Any help would be appreciated.

@SolidSolidino - that's a very good character you've got there. She really seems able as a commander or officer of the fleet, unlike many other femsheps I've seen whose main value is beauty. This one appear to have both authority and good looks. Also remarkable is that you've managed to create something interesting with that hairstyle. Well done!

I'm happy she like you, but the editor of ME sucks, really really sucks, it's too limited.

And then i've created the male character, Alexander

Adama Shepard

I usually play FemShep, but I've been distracted and not feeling much like playing. So I got digging around, found Gibbed and you know how things go from there. I didn't feel like morphing or replacing existing files, so I started fresh on a male shep with BSG in mind.

That said, I wanted to see how far I could go with a an in-game character creation of Adama. I don't know why him, but the thought stuck. Before I got started though, I wanted to create a complete mod simulating his voice. I got as far as extracting the audio, but repackaging for the game has proven difficult. I digress.

Anyway, here's my creation of Adama Shepard. Once I got started and had a baseline, I decided to search on masseffect2faces.com to make sure I wasn't adding something that was overdone. All I found were two other Face Codes for Adama... with blonde hair.

I think the proportions are about as close as they can get with the in-game editor. His battle scared face isn't as worn as in the series, but it's definately noticable. Depending on the lighting, Adama Sheps hair will go a bit grey and in some scenes, he just looks so damn convincing that you expect another BSG character or a Cylon to  come popping around the corner (Shooting Mechs is rather amusing though). He really fits in well with crew interactions and makes for an engaging time for repeat players or first time MaleShep players like myself.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is the voice. He sounds young, no, completely out of place. However, he also looks a little younger as well, so it's almost fitting to call him a younger version of William (Bill) Adama. Once I find a way to repackage edited sound files, I'll consider releasing a sound mod, if it's at all possible.

Here's a quick mashup image.

Here's the Face Code for easy reference:
323.WWP.RWW.H11.IIS.A8F.WWW.5IW.W74.6N2.147.6
(can also be found on www.masseffect2faces.com with the celebrity male search term "Adama")

More screenshots can be found on Photobucket:

No morphs or mods are needed for this. Just edit your existing code, or use during character creation.

Hello all,

May I introduce: Emyr Shepard

I created him for Mass Effect one and I've carried him over for Mass Effect 2. I think he looks great in-game and I'm quite proud to have made him as a character. One which will appear in the third game!

That's a pretty good 'different' shepherd. I get a new vibe from the look compared to all the others.

It's funny as I modelled him on myself but the likeness isn't 100%, although there's a hint of me in him nonetheless. Unless I'm mistaken, I've read that some people had trouble with transferring their character's face from game one to game two? As for me, the transfer was flawless and he looks exactly the same as he did in the first game. To me he is 'Shepard' and when I see the default Shepard face, he seems completely alien! Perhaps I can upload a video of my character sometime, see how others will interpret him.

You're evidently very quick to pass judgement on people, Smartie. Do you think that is a smart thing?

I take it that you haven't learnt to read peoples' faces to some degree yet, can't read peoples' emotions on their faces (emotions which say something about who they are) etc. Well, there's still hope for you, it's usually something one grows to do.

On topic: @StewdioStix, @Arua Shepard and @Mach2Infinity - those are some rather unusual and interesting malesheps. Nice work!
