lol, you guys probably need to edit the first post, or even the thread name ;) That's what "no search" power can do :)

and answering that question - NO, it works almost the same on console. You go to "Custom Appearance" and input the code in the bottom of the screen options(there is already some code for face currently on screen, you can't miss it).

Ok i am on the 360 and i would love to add my Shepard to the site. Only problem is that i am well into the game. Is there anyway to retrieve the character ID outside of the character creator?

If you go to the "Squad" section from the in-game menu/mission computer and have your Shepard up on the screen it will show their identity code in the top left corner, right above your name.

Found the problem. ME1 characters imported into ME2 have no ID's

ok so are you in the normandy or like in a city or something? i know you might not think it matters but i really dont see it.

I was on the Normandy, but yes, I'd be surprised if they removed it depending on your location. I edited the above post with an example after you had started your reply I suppose, hopefully that will help. The code was in the exact same position for me on my 360.

This is all fine for faces you build from scratch in ME2 editor, but how do I get the code (to modify it) for imported face? Once I select it, game moves right to class selection, without option to touch up my Shepard's features. And I'd really like to, since in ME2 her hair got a strange red tint I don't remember.

If you imported a character from ME1 and used the appearance you had from it I don't believe it will give you a face code. I think it is for ME2 generated characters only.

i can only suggest, that you imported your character straight from ME1, not changing appearance? I think default Shepard and this ones(straight import) don't have such codes at all, on PC or console.

That's was my conclusion from seeing how people couldn't edit(only edit, not recreate) their imported faces. Because you could do it like that: accept import face, then go in-game to "squad" tab and write down your code, then play with it in editor. But it can be possible ONLY if such a code created in the first place for imported faces( or if no one noticed , but that's extremly low possibility)

Sad news. I wonder why is that. Haven't noticed much difference in face editor of ME2.

Ok, so I have a question now as well. When you do import a character and decide to change their face with the editor you still get the box at the bottom of the screen that allows you to input a code just like a completely new game, right?

No, it resets the entire face. you still get a code, but it wont be your ME1 shepard.

Update.

When importing a save from ME1 player can either accept imported face "as is", use default or build a new one from scratch. Only "custom face" option will show you face creation code on this stage. Choosing "default" and "imported" will propel you right into the game after class choice.

However, it's possible to retrieve your face code when your start to actually play. Go into "squad" menu and you'll see it in the left upper corner. You'll have to write it down by hand.

I'll try to re-import my ME1 save and use the code provided to change Shepard's appearance a little though "custom". Then report here.

Ahh, gotcha, thanks.

Not that big of a deal for me since I just recreated my old FemShep with her old sliders and copied down the code for when I get around to playing her, but it sucks to hear that that's what it does otherwise. I was just afraid I wouldn't be able to use codes at all with an imported character.

Just tried this, I entered the game using my imported ME1 Femshep, went into the squad page and wrote down the code it displayed, then came back out, went through the startup again to the character creation scheme, input the code and... it's the default custom face code. I double checked it, and I think if you import your face from ME1, you only get the default face code in the squad option.
Here's the code I had from the Squad Page after importing my FemShep.

743.Q9G.M17.F8A.JDQ.6SQ.1DA.711.966.414.6G6.177

If someone else imports their Femshep ME1 appearance, check the squad page and see if it's the same - if it is we'll know for definate that imported ME1 appearance codes don't actually exist, you just get given the default custom code.

It's the same for me. I tried to re-input given code and nothing like my imported face showed up.

But my given code it different.

743.H5P.G9G.F1M.CD6.2BR.FLM.715.GB1.197.6G7.266

My guess would be it's a code from ME1 editor, and it doesn't match ME2 code format.

*hope once again flickers*. You didn't say how face for this code looked - like default or not?

no.. both xbox and PC have it.. but its for custom faces only. If you use default or carry-over from ME1 - you won't get a code.

You CAN play with the custom face to make it look just like your ME1 face to get the code, but this of course, requires playing thru the face editor again.
