just finished this game. this game makes me feel like crying. It is completely soulless. No variation of endings except for in the credits with a cliche star wars style ending, the companions are completely forgettable, and the protagonist is the most boring and soulless piece of **** ive ever seen. I cant believe dragon age stooped this low. this game makes dragon age 2 look like a masterpiece. 80% of this ****** game are sidequests with no dialogue and no story, and almost all of the armor looks exactly the same. bioware is dead forever. I waited so long just to play this piece of garbage. "Bioware", rename your site to EA. you arent bioware anymore. you died with dragon age 2. To those who still want to buy the game, well i feel for you. Enjoy this cut-up bastardization of dragon age. This game reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and thats ****** depressing, because this game is exactly like it. DONT BUY THIS GAME
Bioware has died.

ok, tell me how. zero different endings and literally zero cutscenes, story, and choices in the side areas. the only good thing about the game is sitting at your castle and talking about politics, which is pathetic. all these zones they made and they are completely soulless fetch quest sandboxes. Sidequest Age: Inquisition should have been the name for this game.

You're taking this franchise way too seriously. Just... relax and enjoy what people give you. If you don't, move on. Simple.

See. You cant answer that because you know how many steps Bioware took back from their previous games to draw in the Call of Duty crowd. sellout piece of trash game

If you honestly think BioWare is targeting Call of Duty fans in particular, then you and I are playing very different games.
Is it so different? Call of Duty is famous for dumbing down each game more than the next. Do we not see the same pattern ?

I still havent seen you explain to me why you disagree that 80% of this game is a busy work side quest.

Of which you only need to to the bare minimum if you hate them so much.
I like the huge amounts of quests. Do a bit of story, then do some more questing for more power and influence, do some more story, etc.

ok, so cut out the side quest zones which is the majority of this game, and you are left with a bland main story with a laughable ending. At the end in skyhold, I was honestly waiting for him to wake up in the fade under corypheus' control or something because i could not possibly believe bioware would make an ending this bad. only good thing were the companions, and they werent even that good ! they barely ever talk in cutscenes and banter is not nearly as frequent or interesting as it was in the previous games.

My squad will not shut the hell up.
Cutting out the 'side quest zones', as you call them, is not possible. Main story takes places there too.
And finally, after years and years of whining that sidequest don't really mean anything in relation to the main quests of the game, you finally get a game filled to the top with quests that pretty much all matter in relation to the main quest, and people whine about how there's too many quests.
Uggh, gamers.

Lol, what quests are you talking about? the ones where you read a piece of paper to go collect ram meat or pick flowers? yeah. so much relation to the main quest. i felt so immersed reading that piece of paper. 50000 times. truly next gen storytelling right there. Please tell me one sidequest area that has a cutscene that does not come from the war table or the main quest. try to give me just one. And I find it hard to believe that killing wolves for a farmer or collecting ram meat has to do with rifts in the sky.

Power, influence.
You know. Power for story progression and influence for Inquisition perks.
And most quests you get from people within the Inquisition needing stuff for the Inquisition. And if not, you build the strength of the inquisition in other ways (earlier mentioned power and influence)

I agree more cutscenes would have been nice, there are a few sidequests you do where a cutscene would have made much more of an impact. For example when you kill a 'big bad' and you just run up and loot him, would have been massively better if there was a little scene of you filling him with arrows/freezing him/cutting him in two or whatnot.
The reason you do these side quests is to get people to like the inquisition. You're a new power with someone who people believe killed the divine as its head. You're also hated by the Chantry. Once you've helped people, they change their opinion about you and that reflects in the ambient conversations they have (which I always eavesdrop on!). It all matters, or at least I think Bioware have done a great job making it feel like it matters.

But I'm not bothering myself, I'm enjoying myself.
I disconnected from the 'true gamers' and their entitled raging a long, long time ago. I've been playing games for 25 years now, so that should say something about how I feel about nist people who have the same hobby as me.

if you really think that spending countless hours doing nothing but mindlessly grinding and gathering materials "matters" in a game like this, then youre exactly the lot from the mass of idiots that bioware tried to attract on a cash-in bastardization of what their franchise used to be.

If you think its mindless, then you're not reading / listening to the story. Also, you don't have to gather materials yourself if you don't want to, there are wartable missions you can get your minions to do. You also get cloth / leather just from progressing in the story or buying them from merchants. On top of that, you don't have to craft anything if you don't want to, there is plenty of world loot for your party to wear.
