Is there any way to reset this quest?  I had the Druffalo following me up the hill around the back of the farm, and all of a sudden it moved to the top of a rock and can't come down.  I moved on and did a few more quests and forgot about it.  Now when I log in, it still shows that the Druffalo is at the rock, but it is physically gone.

My only concern is that this quests leads to other quests and I am some what of a completest when it comes to RPGs, so I don't like quests hanging around or missing out on things.

This happened to me too. I just went to the other side of the path then it slid down the hill and made its own way into the field. Have you tried going to where you found the Drufflo and see if its still there? or go and speak to its owner and see if you can complete the quest anyway. If none of it works then its a quest that doesn't lead on to any thing else so you could leave it.

Thanks for the reply!  I jumped and moved all over the place and the darn thing wouldn't move.  Now it is no longer visible and doesn't appear to be back at its starting spot.  I will just leave it and move on.

Have you tried leaving the map and coming back? It worked for me when plot char disappeared off the map for some reason in The Forbidden Oasis.

Looked, never found the Druffalo. Thanks youve inspired me to take another look, probably stuck somewhere.

This quest is bugged for me as well, but not for the above listed reason. There are a pair of wolves that seem to have been bugged somehow? Their eyes are green and they won't attack my party - nor can I attack them. However, their presence causes the Druffalo to stop moving entirely. For awhile I was ushering Nugs in their direction because they would chase it and I could move the Druffalo a bit, but they would return, like they were following me. Now I've progressed close enough to Redcliffe, there are no more nugs around and I can't move the Druffalo. I've tried fast traveling around the map to get them to move, but no luck. I don't want to leave the map entirely because that could reset the Druffalo back to its original location and may possibly start this all over again.

I have tried leaving the map, fast traveling, logging out of the game, etc.  The Druffalo is gone.  Shows it on the map as being on the rock, but it is not there.  I went to its original location and it is not there either.  I tried talking to the quest giver, nothing.  I have since moved on from this quest and will just mark it up as one that will not get completed.

My druffalo just stopped following me altogether. I was walking him through some water and he just decided that was a nice place to live forever.

if you're close to your encampment that might be causing issues. i couldn't lead him thru mine, so i had to go around (towards the abandoned house)

Don't go anyplave you have to jump to get to, don't go through camp or buildings, the Duffalo will follow to the corral it's supposed to be in.

Have you guys who can't complete this finished the wolves quest for Dennet's wife? I'm wondering if he's bugging out on some of you who mention wolves nearby because you haven't completed this other quest yet. Granted, my Duffalo never bugged out on me ...even tanked a wolf solo when a mob of three attacked us while leading him back (crit and one shot the wolf he did) but I'm wondering if possibly the wolves quest is causing some folks to have issues.  Also you have to pretty much lead him on a level path ...yes he will cross water (not sure why he got stuck for one of the posters here) but if you lead him in what you may think is the "shortest" path, he is going to get stuck because you tried to jump a giant rock rather that go around ...he follows in your footsteps near exactly folks, which means no jumping rocks, no cutting thru and between trees or tents. I can't say much about rezoning to see if he resets, I didn't glitch my Druff :P

Make sure when doing this quest that you don't have him cross the stream.  Instead, take him the long way around and keep him on a grassy surface.  For whatever reason, he can't jump like your characters, so all those rocks get him caught up like a log in slow-moving water.  The way I got him out was to walk up to him, run into him from behind, run all the way around him like you're pestering him; then run out ahead of him in a very short distance the direction you intend for him to go.  It took a few tries, but he finally made his way off the rocks and it auto-pathed back into the grass where he could cross the bridge.

I had a lot of trouble with this too, spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why it stopped moving right before going into the pen. Turns out, I was trying to lead it to the wrong one. Mark the quest as active and it shows you where it needs to go. It's not the pen next to the stables.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. In hindsight, like you, I tried taking it to the wrong pen. As it didn't want to go where I thought it needed to, I left the map for another quest. And now, it's stuck. The druffalo got reset to it destination pen, but as I didn't lead it there myself, the game won't trigger the concluding dialogue with the NPC, and I'm stuck with an incompletable quest.

Flippen Fechquest. Annoying and unimportant.
