Finish first playthrough "fast" and start #2, or max out first playthrough?

So I'm about 45 hours into my first playthrough and I think I can see the finish line in terms of the main story.  Can't decide if I should just go and finish the game and start over so I can experience doing a different character/choices, or if I should max out my first playthrough and do all the side stuff on this original character.

Of course I should "do what I want", but I'm looking for advice or opinions on what you guys are doing.

Thanks!

This game is huge. I personally will take all the time in the world for a completionist 1st play-through because I may find it boring the immediate second play-through :P

I usually do everything the first time, then focus mainly on the story for any additional play throughs.

I'm planning on doing everything the first time because I can't predict whether or not an immediate replay is in the future. I'd like to savor it as best as possible.

I'm currently over 92 hours for my first playthrough and still have 4 main quests to finish the game. I'm at level 20 and since reaching that level, I don't receive anymore xp for killing demons/animals/people/whatever. The only time I get xp is when I read books or letters that I haven't found yet.

My first play throughs I just take things as they come. If I finish to fast so be it if I find everything great if I don't too bad ill find them in the next one. I also stick to all my decisions good or bad.

I get interesting results from it. For instance my first hawke was friend zoned by Isabella even though he was actively trying to hit it he just couldn't. He was an a aggressive ass hawke I think that turned her off lol he was like an 80s super cop.

First play through on a dwarf commoner on origins I ended up killing Connor screwing up everything in Redcliffe after trying to be a good guy and killing Jowan on the way up the castle.

Any non-spoilery way to find out how many main quests there are? Like I'd love to know whether a quest closes act 2 or something.

I'm always a fan of slow going on the first run because everything is fresh so its the best opportunity to just take it all in with that whole "new car smell" dynamic.

Second playthroughs are great and thrilling IMO, but it will never be the same as the first time... It's not like that three letter word that describes relations between two individuals where the second and third times etc... can be far better than your first time. Gaming is different where I believe the first experience is in many, many cases better than any subsequent run-throughs.

I try to do everything on my first playtrough. I accidentally am just one main quest away of finishing the game, but I started to do side content cause there is couple of areas I haven't seen yet. All ready over 90 hours in, but it feels much shorter. Time flies while playing.

There are 11 main quests in the story with numerous side quests to be done. When looking at the war table, the green color represents a main quest. Currently I'm avoiding those till I collect everything and finish other side quests before finishing with the main quests.
