Think about it, Cassandra does look like an guy, because, just look at all these fangirls out there wishing she wasn't straight and that she was an option for them. She kind of reminds me of those anime female characters that aren't considered feminine, but are extremely popular among the ladies because they look cool and handsome.

The courting part was fine, it gets Disney-esque when

Spoiler
and everything afterwards I facepalmed so hard I banged my head off a wall. What happened to the mature romances.

Haven't played that yet. Can't respond. Just saying, some real life romances are disney-esque, and are just as 'mature'.

Spoiler
used to be really serious business back in medieval Europe and, well, lots of cultures. Heck, one-on-one battle is one of the most common court rituals even among animals

Hah, I don't know what kind of guys you know if you think she looks like one.

I honestly expected her to be buffer, being a tank and all. She's slender and she'd got one of the most feminine faces in the game. If she had long hair I bet most of the people saying that she looks like a dude wouldn't even dream of it.

Wait so because a romance doesn't include sex it's not considered a romance? Because it's optimistic, drama-free, disney-esque it's not considered a romance? Is it so immature to gently court a noble woman? Cause last I checked that's the way romance worked for quite some time. I am so sick of this mentality.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but this game's romances are just as diverse as they were in previous games and each romance has been different in one way or the other.

I do not live in an era of chivalrous white knighting Prince Charming nonsense. That died in the 1950s, has been dead for a while now and should stay. Men should no longer get involved in deadly duels that can kill them just to win a lady's hand and receive what, a few pecks and a hug in front of a fireplace ? I live in an era where if I was in a relationship and put something toward it, I expect something equal in return...

To me, romance, is a transaction, a business, a two way street, that works best if both parties are honest and give towards eah other in equal measure...Josephine does not give back in equal measure for all the hoops my Inquisitor has to jump through...

Well she may not be buffer, but she does have a tone body from what I saw :P

Well, maybe they'll make a BARBIE for the next game? Or by some remote distant miracle, mods someday in the far off future will become available, this is doubtful but nothing is impossible

Because she doesn't give back through the crap she goes through for the Inquisition? Hell, she can still give back on the long run. Honestly though you're playing a fantasy game; an era where chivalry and white knights were everything...

Honestly can't people respect the fact that other people enjoy that kind of romance? I've never complained that I never actually felt any of the romances in the past because non of them are girls I'd be interested in.

If I was nice and loving to a woman and we decided to get into a romantic relationship, then yes, I expect sex. It is that simple really.

What does it say about me that I erroneously expected the original post to be a rant filled with negativity...

I give my resources...my time, my money, my attention, my emotions, my commitment...To a woman that I am romancing...So if I expect sex from them, I am bad ?

Clearly, I am surrounded by delusional people who think that men should slave away in a romantic relationship, have no expectations whatsoever and be content with whatever the woman gives back, even if it is crappy...

If you have to spend that long explaining your subjective opinion, I suspect you have mixed feelings.

He never said owes but yes having sex in a health relationship is pretty normal, in fact not having sex would suggest your relationship isn't all that healthy.

Can we swap Cass for Sera?

I wouldn't call it toned, just slender. Compared to my idea of warrior builds, at least. Tiny arms and shoulders. I've seen buffer 13-year-olds. Hell, I was a buffer 13-years-old. No big deal tho.

@Breaker - She's got sharp, kinda gaunt features, but definitely not manly. Big eyes, small nose, regular features. The only (generally considered) unfeminine trait she has are thin lips.

Yes

This is their body and their decision what to do with it

That's borderline abusive approach many stalkers possess - I send her flowers, so she has to have sex with me. I am nice to her, so she has to kiss me. I do good things to her, so she belongs to me

Boy, unless your partner (woman or man) agrees to such terms, you have no right to demand anything in return. This is not a game in which you "win" by spending resources. This is a relationship between two persons who should respect each other

You make it sound like you're giving everything and she's giving nothing? It's not wrong to not expect sex but you should also be considerate, what if she's not emotionally ready for it? Or just prefers post-marital sex?

That's a stereotypical and bluntly offensive approach

And really flawed, too. You don't date a doll, you date a human being with feelings and thoughts. That's what is important. If you ignore these in favout of intercourse then the relationship will likely fall without you even notice that. Because trust, love and loyalty are much, much more important. They're the basics
