Hah!
Thank you OP, that actually made my day ![]()

My reaction to the OP:

You tried to be clever and create a mocking thread that says the opposite of all of the 'straight guys are being oppressed by ugly female LI's' threads, but it just got derailed and corrupted into that which you intended to mock.
B+ for concept
D for implementation
C for overall grade
"Hey Cassandra, have you ever been mistaken for a man?"
"No. Have you?"
"Absolute badass" (Cassandra, Vasquez, and Snook)

I think the OP intended it to go this way ![]()
I never said I couldn't love a person because they weren't perfect, lol who's perfect, all I said was physical attraction i.e. sex is normal in a healthy relationship and as a heterosexual male I don't find other males or a woman i.e. Cass who looks like a man attractive. Hell her personality is even grating. You said you don't want to romance Cassandra because "she looks like a man"
You can't love a person because she isn't "perfect"
That is shallow
Cassandra is absolutely gorgeous, and she's so cute when she's fan-girling about Varric's books. And if you find a guy with make up like that... ![]()
I think the OP intended it to go this way
Well then, I lower that grade to C for concept and C for implementation, not affecting the overall grade for the thread. C's get degrees, after all.
Corrected :- If there is no sex they are not in a relationship they are in a
friendshipfriendzone.
Hah.
Monodirectional attraction + feeling of entitlement and no actual friendship -> friendzone
You can have sex with friends. That doesn't make it a relationship. It works the other way around too.
Did I say back on track? I lied.

Is it wrong to want Bioware to create a romanceable female character that is strong but yet looks like a female, woman do not need to look like men to be strong independent characters.
Sex isn't a physical attraction. Sex is an act. Sexual appeal is a physical attraction
And as a heterosexual female I find feminine guys and masculine guys and andro guys beautiful. Really, stop bringing up your sexuality as if it has a say in your tastes. It doesn't
Plus Cassandra doesn't look like a man. She looks like a woman with very short haircut and a little scar. As far as I remember she still has breasts and more or less slender figure with feminine proprtions (big hips, narrow shoulders) and no beard. Heck, from a biological point of view men are actually more capable of growing long hair than we girls are. Fashion changes all the time and is not a justification of gender beauty standards
Unless you can prove that we girls are biologically aren't capable of having scars and short haircuts...
Cass is the kind of warrior who can eat raw iron and **** steel ingots. Cass is a proper Amazonian warrior who's heart longs for a Hercules to her Hipolita. So the only options for a straight male gamer is a frigid disney princess, or a religious nut that looks like she likes to use her face to deflect sword attacks? Boooo-urns.
My kingdom for a 'remove Cassandra's uggo scars, and give her proper hair' mod.
Cass is the kind of warrior who can eat raw iron and **** steel ingots. Cass is a proper Amazonian warrior who's heart longs for a Hercules to her Hipolita.
That sounds like it would hurt.
Cass is a proper Amazonian warrior who's heart longs for a Hercules to her Hipolita.
Hercules killed Hippolyta.
Never be a woman around Hercules. Except Xena.
There's plenty of heterosexual males out there -- including my husband, who is plenty 'manly' -- who find Cassandra attractive. That being said, if you try to argue over what defines attractiveness and why someone likes this and someone else doesn't, well....
I for one would need a lot more coffee before jumping down that rabbit hole.
Maybe I should just completely go off the reservation and go after Iron Bull.
I just want modding like back in DA:O so the minor annoyances can be tweaked dagnabbit!
I don't understand the issue with Cassandra's tied up hair and scars in her face. I'd be surprised if didn't have any scars at all considering the kind of life she is living.
Had it been in the real world her face probably would have been much worse of. Getting hit by a mace in the face for example tend to have some terrible effects on said face. I'd say that Cassandra has been lucky to just have a couple of scars.
Often physical attractions natural conclusion is sex, and when you are attracted to someone its because you at some point may like to have sex with them. The majority of the time you won't but that is part of the reason you are attracted to them.
Well I and all my heterosexual male friends don't find males attractive, so its unlikely that they would find Cass who looks like a guy attractive. Plus I never stated that it Cass's short hair and scars that make her look like a man, its the combination of all her features.
People can want sex even without sexual attraction. People can feel aesthetic attraction and don't want sex. Treating it like "a must or it is friendship" is a quick way to treating your partner like an object, rather than a person
I can find guys hot but still do not want to have sex with them. Because, duh, not everyone likes sex
So if a woman has short hair and a scar she looks like a man? Strong jaw is a man's trait only? Unless you can use actual facts (study of human biology etc) this sounds like a bad stereotype
It has always been very clear that this game wasn't aimed at straight males, so I don't think the OP has much to complain about. Gay guys have had the rough end of the stick for years (no pun intended) so it seems churlish to complain when one game (out of hundreds released) caters to them and not straight guys.
And if you are straight, why are you buying a gay game anyway?
And if you are straight, why are you buying a gay game anyway?
Since when do video games have sexual orientations?
Also DA:I isn't a dark fantasy romance simulator, it is a dark fantasy RPG with optional romance content.
I never said a must, I only said part. Also as I said before its not one feature alone that makes her look like a man its the combination.People can want sex even without sexual attraction. Isn't Biowares motto equality for everybody? And if you are straight, why are you buying a gay game anyway?
This conversation is pointless. No matter who argues what, the opposing party will never agree.
Certain posters need to get over themselves. I mean, using the "that's how i am, thus it's how the world works" garbage is in no shape or form factual nor indicative of the human race as a whole.
I never said a must, I only said part. Also as I said before its not one feature alone that makes her look like a man its the combination.

You said it's an essential part. Which isn't true for many relationships
In your subjective opinion she looks like a man. in my opinion I guess I still remember that being a woman isn't about having long hairdo or babyface. Heck, go and check some High Fashion magazins. Ladies with pixie cuts are pretty popular
As far as I know bioware's motto isn't "so let's make a ****** material for these guys/gals lol". Thankfully, it is more of a "let's create unique interestinf charactes who feel like real people". They also acknowledge how sexist the industry is and actually do a better job than every other big company. Maker bless these guys
To be fair to the OP though (even though I disagree with the main point) Cassandra does look like a man. It is not so much her face I think - it is more the way she moves.
This conversation is pointless. No matter who argues what, the opposing party will never agree.
