I've been experimenting with the Cassandra arc on a male character and...I can't say I find it impressive.
I'm not even really taking looks into account here. Its that its literally a formulaic "buy my love" scenario. Prove to me that you are the perfect man...and then, maybe, I will love you in return.
Ooookay. I'm not sure how many perfect people are actually on the real world but I'm pretty sure the numeric value for that is statistically irrelevant. Simple facts are love isn't perfect, love is love because its love. My significant other is not perfect, our relationship is based in friendship and a comfortable acceptance of each others presence in close proximity for a long period of time.
There were no extravagant gifts exchanged, no requirements of over the top romantic moonlight cruises in the Bahamas...no poetry, just two people that have professional lives, that also enjoy games and happen to find each other intelligent, funny and easy to look at.
Cassandra's romance is...as idealistic as she is. And frankly I can see why people complain, it has very little to do with her physical properties, which in all fairness aren't horrible for a woman that is 40 years old...but her idea of what a relationship should be is a pretty far cry from what relationships really are.
I'm not even really interested in sex with Cassandra I'm just looking at the romance arc objectively to see how it plays out.
