The maps have exit points but I believe those only take you to the world map where you will have to pick and load into a new level/map. It doesn't not seem to have a mechanic that will allow you to travel from one part of the world to the next closest area. I think that is what you are asking but I'm not sure.

It is not open world ala Skyrim. It's large (sometimes very large) hubs that allow you to explore. You travel between these hubs via a map fast travel system.

Yeah I haven't been using the horse much. Only for fun sometimes.

I love how you could explore for hours and not run into a loading screen ...*cough* Skyrim *cough*

Now now....I like both games for different reasons. None of which I will list here as to not derail this thread.

I just wonder if continuing game after main quest is finished in Skyrim, influenced Devs to include that option in DAI...as it this the first time they have done it in any Dragon Age game.
Not that i'm complaining...I like the idea

Thanx for the information . I'm quite disappointed in this I was under the impression we could travel from one map to the other without loading sad considering the power of the platforms it runs of sill its a great game

Actually, I've found the horse very useful! Much faster if holding down L3 on PS4 (not sure what button on PC), and you take no damage if falling from great heights (as long as it's not into water/off the map) when mounted. Can save on many frustrating incidents where your only option is to travel a long distance to get from A to B, when B is literally right below you.

Hissing Wastes is the only place I utilized my horse. No where else was flat enough or open enough to justify it. Maybe Western Approach in hindsight but meh.

I almost never use the horse, personally speaking. I've found that I don't really mind walking around, and I wanna hear the party banter.
