Today, I was talking with my friend during class and he told me that in Hinterlands you can recruit a agent. The thing is, I spoke with her (the agent), but I must have missed something, because she did not join the Inquisition. The recruit is a female scout.

  1. Will the recruit affect the final battle or is she a bonus that gives stuff like +5% faster war table completion?
  2. Will the agent have a storyline?

I am 25 hours in the game, my characters are around level 10-12, I have completed Hinterlands (aside from dragon) and almost done with Storm Coast. A mate send me a guide and aside from this agent, I have recruited the ones in Hinterlands and Storm Coast.

      3. Should I reroll?

I doubt Bioware would make 1 agent affect the game a lot, but if you don't mind throwing 25 hours out the window by all means go for it.

Ha no, this one agent isn't that important.  It's an optional side thingy.  Don't know if you meet her again later, but agents only speed up War Table stuff, as far as I'm aware.

Some can offer other benefits. I don't believe this specific one, does anything more than what you have stated.

Ah didn't know agents offered other stuff too sometimes.  Haven't progressed too far, only have a handful of agents (plus the Hessarian Blades who seem to only count as one Agent? :P )

Apparently you can meet your Agents in your base?  I guess this means Skyhold because I haven't found any in Haven yet.

I'm not that far either, as I'm not at Skyhold yet, but I've heard some will show up there. I do know that some agents will open up operations for you as well as provide certain items.

And people say the side quests don't matter.

That's one of the main things I love about this game. Sure, there are your standard fetch quests but they've done well to ensure a lot of the side missions bring true meaning to your exeperience.

I have recruited tons of agents, and I have not seen one in Skyhold.  I'm on the last main mission, btw.

Hmmm, I am hearing two different things here. One player says the agents return in Skyhold and offer quests and other player said there is no agent?

Can someone please confirm who is correct here.

I have yet to see an agent in Skyhold.

I have yet to get a war mission initiated by one of them.

All they do is reduce the time it takes their boss (Cullen, Lelz, or Josie) to complete a mission by 5%.

The Stormcoast agent (blades) provides an operation, 100%.

But really, the most useful thing about them is that they count as point spend in their respective category (Forces, Connections, Secrets, Inquisition), allowing you to skip filler perks and unlock the high grade perks for much cheaper.

I run into my recruited agents every time I return to Skyhold. If you don't pay attention, I guess they are easy to miss. Watch for the named individuals with icons above their heads. They should be seen in nearly all of the public portions of Skyhold, at some point.

RIGHT!

The Hessarian Blades kind of pipe in every now and then. Aside from that...uhm, Alexius I suppose does give a war table mission. Right I stand corrected on the war missions...but yeah I don't think they're in Skyhold

No, it just doesn't happen with every agent. Only some will provided operations for you. The Skyhold comment, is from what I've heard as I'm not there yet. That is why I could not confirm nor deny on that aspect.

AFAICT you need Verric in your party for that one. (it's also quite easy for the scout to be dead).

There are many options, I think having the forces perk that gives you extra options also give you the opportunity to recruit her. Great job on having so many ways to complete even the small quests! Kudos to BW!

All agents reduce the time it takes to do a war table mission by 5%.  So no it's not the end of the world if you miss someone.

However they do satisfy the "Need 4 points in this category to choose this trait."  So if you want the "Deft Hands" lockpicking trait but don't feel like putting any points in the Secrets section just make sure you have 3 agents for Leliana.

Some agents do tend to wander about Skyhold, but it's not common and they tend to just be for back drop.

As to missing an agent, you not necessarily must have missed something - sometimes there're prerequisites to recruiting one - such as dialogue perks, right party member who can intervene or a main story progress. Perhaps some other factors contribute to that as well.

They also help to unlock perks that have prerequisites, such as the mandatory 4-point Deft Hands, Fine Tools if you're running a completionist playthrough.
