I did save the Chargers since I didn't trust the Qunari.

Ben-Hassrath was not pleased with The Iron Bull according to Gnatt, Iron Bull talked about how the intel might not be reliable and then the results.

For me, it felt like Ben-Hassrath was testing how much Iron Bull value the Qun after spending so much time away that they didn't trust him anymore.  So much so that they, perhaps, come up with the scenario we encountered in his quest.  For Iron Bull to either choose to sacrifice his men or prove Ben-Hassrath right that the Qun is not the highest priority in his life anymore.  Once that I got that into my head I rather have Iron Bull cut tied with the Qun that no longer trust him despite him being one of their best agent.

I know it's meta-gamey, but...

Saving Denerim from a terrorist attack >>> I hate the Qun (which I don't).

I have never seen this happen in any of my playthroughs and I've always saved the Chargers. Where does this happen? War map? If so which quest?

During a War Table Operation chain where you work with the Ben-Hassarath to dismantle the Venatori spy network in Southern Thedas you get word that a Venatori fleet is heading to Denerim and you can call on the Qunari to send a Dreadnought to take the fleet out. If you messed up in previous missions (which will slow down the Dreadnought) or chose a different option for this specific mission (I think the other options are to rally a fleet of Fereldan vessels from the local nobles or just warn the city of an impending attack) Denerim is attacked, half the city is burned to the ground, and there have been conflicting reports but some say that the monarch, King Alistatir or Queen Anora, is killed in the attack.

But like you said, there is no mission to respond to half of Denerim being burned down and the King or Queen possibly being killed from an attack by Teviner nor any word about it in Skyhold or anywhere when you save the Chargers. So either Denerim is attack and you hear no word about it or the attack only happens in response to the Inquisition allying with the Qunari. I'm betting it's the latter since the people who had a Queen Cousland Warden would be beyond pissed if Alistair was killed offscreen because they didn't sacrifice the Chargers.

I really don't think this choice is about Save Denerim vs Save the Chargers. It's more about whether you want to sacrifice the Chargers for Qunari resources and the possibility on this alliance building into something beyond stopping Cory or what is better for Iron Bull, his life as a mercenary or a Qunari.

According to this http://dragonage3.wi....com/War Table The above scenario is the Venatori Fire Ship Operation Chain that you can unlock only if you gain the alliances.  You have to choose the right options twice otherwise the event will happen as described above.

I actually think, siding with the Qunari is better for IB as it reminds him of where be comes from and what he represents (The Qun), even if at first he seems heart broken.

Thank you SgtSteel91. So this only happens if you form the Alliance? Interesting. I did get a message in my playthroughs from Alistair/Anora asking our help in getting rid a suspected Venatori agents in the palace which we did, but nothing about the city being attacked. So that makes sense if it is alliance only.

I'm actually surprised they made Tallis do something constructive and not make it worse.

My spiteful hatred of Tallis (let alone the Qun in general) far eclipses my care for the people of Denerim.

Consider: Allying with the Qunari may actually put the people of Denerim in danger since that's when the mission comes up

Saved the chargers of course. (meta-gaming: I despise the Qun and everything about it) My IQ only accepted those reports from the Ben-Hassrath (and the offer for the "aliance" because IB offered them on a plate. She made it very clear that she will be watching him, and said she doesn't trust them every chance she got, so the option to flip the Qun the bird was really satisfying, saving the chargers was just icing on the cake.

The red head she-elf is not the only Tallis, its a rank not a name. So its possible that the war table Tallis is not the Tallis from MOTA
