Let's start by saying that, i won't be able to play the game until mid December, because of workload, so it sucks a bit but what can you do >.>

So, for those of you that are enjoying the game right now, do you remember we used to wonder how heavy armor for Mages actually works?

I still wonder about it, but i would like not to wonder even when i get to play the game :P

I am not talking about light armor that has a heavier look, but how do you unlock heavy armor schematics, and what is involved with actually crafting it.

How does it all work? Shed some light? (Does it indeed involve the Mage Schematics perk from Cullen)? And at what level can you actually craft a heavy armor?

Thanks in advance :]

I've heard it involves Silverite.  That's all I know though, haven't actually made some yet.

Well, in Origins you were able to use the Warden Commander armor or the Jaggernaut armor with an Arcane Warrior and then charge to the horde... As far as I knew this couldn't be done in Inquisition. I played as a Mage and never found a way to make a decent armor with resistances for the poor mages.

And then, Knight Enchanter came. It's a gamebreaker.

I can confirm, with some digging around without any spoilers, i found out that silverite indeed has the property to allow you to craft items that bypass class restriction.

So this is the "actual" way to wear heavy armor as Mage, without counting the light armors that look heavy from design.

Cheers!
