The writers would have to ABSOLUTELY DESTROY our favourite characters, RIP THEM TO SHREDS right before our eyes. Crush their hopes, dreams & Smash everything they ever loved to pieces. This would get the feels going & I hope they do that in future titles!
I was actually hoping they would kill either Leliana or Varric in the course of the game to show that the threat is truly real and that it's capable of killing even those with fan armor. Killing off a character from a previous game that people had become attached is something I hope Bioware does in a future title. And I'm not talking about killing off a character via player choice (such as Hawke or not doing ship upgrades in ME2). I'm talking about killing off a fan-favorite and that always happens in the game regardless of player input.
Obviously, I had to exclude Cullen because the fangirls would actually burn down the Bioware offices.

I thought the singing scene was good. Who cares if people find it silly? I certainly have enough humor and security to not be enraged if other people find it ridiculous.

I found it silly at first, in the end I just find it very scary. As Flemeth once said, the people bow too quickly.
The only scene that made me nearly cry, I watched on youtube because I couldn't kill Hawke. Inquisitor talking to Varric after Hawke's death and he tells a story about that time Hawke invited mercenaries into the mansion for tea time with Leandra. gawd, can't do it. nope nope. Sorry Alistair. Sorry man. nope.

Didn't cry but the Choice between Alistair and Hawke was difficulty. I wasn't happy losing Alistair. I think I might change some choices in the keep so I don't lose Hawke or Alistair. I really wanted to keep him as a Warden no way around it.

I, thankfully, didn't have to choose between Hawke and Alistair, but that would have made me very very sad. Solas leaving my poor Inquisitor made me pretty close to tears...I'm still working my way through the five stages of grief...

#1 - Leaving Hawke behind. There was no way I was leaving Alistair, and I thought it would be an easy choice. Then Hawke is all "SORRY FENRIS" and then you have to break the news to Varric, and well there go all the feels. Tears incoming.

Your Hawke said "Sorry Fenris"? My Hawke just asked me to say goodbye to Varric for him. Jealous. Were you rivals with Varric maybe?

That, and then the "He will be better off without me. Just like I was better off without you." followed by Flemeth's reaction...ergh feels.
For how brief her role was, Flemeth's scenes were heavy as f***.

Meh.
The choose Warden or Hawke scene was terrible, in my opinion, in that the game didn't offer enough plausible reasoning for me as to why I need to leave one of them behind to "be sacrificed."
Honestly? It felt like "oh **** we need to make a forced drama here so LET'S THROW THIS KIND OF DILEMMA STAT!" thing to me instead something that's properly planned and executed. Honestly, it felt really weak.

One of these day's, they need to have a scenario where the two people, both companion type major characters, will be begging you to save them.
One a generally good, positive person, perhaps a romance option even, in tears, simply scared for their lives. The other some over confident, horrible jerk who has some vital world changing reason you need to keep them alive for. So do you save the good person who's life matter's little to the world other than the sun shine of their smile, or the bad person that matters a great deal in the grander scheme of things.

No tears, but the cutscene after the singing bit; Solas' "there's a place" speech coupled with the soundtrack was pretty powerful to me.

It was VERY quiet. Honestly I would have missed it if not playing with subtitles on. Hawke asks you to say goodbye to Varric, then as she's jumping to the spider basically whispers "Sorry Fenris." It was awful. Then not only does Varric make me want to cry himself, he goes on about how he should be the one to tell Fenris. GUH.

Dawn will Come is defintely the saddest.
I sacrificed Stoud so it meant nothing to me. will not be able to go through if it is between Hawke and Alistair.
Morrigan screaming that she would never be the mother like Flemeth was to her and Flemeth looking regretful got me too.
and people are saying this is a bad game!!!

It hit me right in the stomach when he was talking about Bianca getting married and said "That was the wedding she actually turned up to". Man... give the little guy a hug or something. Get over here bro.
That scene actually made me angry at Varric. (Until the wicked grave scene)
He spends two games building it up, calling it the one story he will never tell and all that happened was that he has unrequited love? But oh sure it's okay to spin a story about your best buddy and all their family being killed... Grrr

The one he can never tell is the details of how he got his hands on crossbow Bianca, I thought? Something about that causing more problems for dwarf Bianca.

Ya, there seem to be far more details between Bianca, "Bianca," and Varric than what was shown. He has a love that he can't be with because the Guild may likely try to kill them if they stick together, because there was something about a civil war that was almost started with them being together. That raised some curiosity for me, but it never went into more detail.
So, it is a story he will never tell, because it could result in placing his loved one in peril. Varric bullshitting stories about the Champion and such seem to only place him in danger, considering that is why Cassandra interrogated him.
Back on topic... feels... okay.... ummm... that Morrigan family scene I agree was great, and.... well, I never seemed tempted to cry during this game, but I thought Thom's reveal and story was dramatic and "feely," especially when he was in the Orlesian jail and getting angry and saying he should be left to die. I really felt for the guy.
Also, I agree that many things Cole says are sad, especially when describing how the original Cole died.
