Bah, as long as i am not Orlesian, i am good to go!
Btw guys, i am not sure when the fun nationalistic role play ends and when you guys are actually seriously arguing which fictional country/region/kingdom is better.
But its amazing nonetheless ![]()

Has anyone noticed that every playable human in the DA series has been of the nobility of someplace or other?

I'm a Ferelden fanboy I can admit their **** is ****ed up. Still waiting on that Alistair/Anora golden age...
Still the best human warriors in Thedas though.

I was about to say DA:O human mages weren't, but we know from DA2 that the Amells are noble. That said, despite Leandra, the Hawkes are not nobles.

I don't think the Caron family is nobility. (Human Orlesian Grey Warden from Awakening).
Yes, they become the ruler of Ameranthine, but I don't think they were nobles in Orlais.
"Everyone knows you don't like Ferelden."
"I like Ferelden."
"Everyone knows you don't."
Look at this, now you're telling me your opinion of what my opinion is is greater than my knowledge of what my opinion is. Aren't you just precious?
Its not "my opinion", you have nothing, absolutely nothing on this matter. This is nothing remotely suggesting Ferelden is a unpleasant place to live. Its not about knowledge or opinion. Do not twist the argument. At worst Ferelden is on same level with Orlais. /end discussion.
it smells funny

How about its a blighted, freezing, war infested, darkspawn roaming hovel?
o.o
Also Ferelden is home of people who actually take perverse pride in their freezing, blighted, war infested, darkspawn roaming pisspot of a nation.
Honestly it would do them good to have some proper leadership.

there are darkspawn roving the Storm Coast
Ferelden is NOT darkspawn infested, in fact it always had very low number of grey wardens due to ultra rare sightings of darkspawn.
lol, it had a very low number of Grey Wardens because they all got kicked out and weren't let to return until 30 years ago.

To say nothing of the extreme poverty and weather!

The game epilogue did say the darkspawn retreated north, I guess that counts.
so yes, there are darkspawn wandering the lands, not as many as in the Anderfels probably
mind you the epilogues are hear sayThe game epilogue did say the darkspawn retreated north, I guess that counts.

Lol. Even before getting kicked out they were low on numbers. Ferelden never had many wardens because most blights happened farther away from there. Its also true in Rivain's case.
Source?

You're not even responding the right thing. Good job.

The War Table briefing was pretty clear on the threat of them wandering south; it would have been bad because Fereldan is still embarrassingly weak.
Seriously them becoming a protectorate of the Orlesians again likely wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to them.

@ Master Warder
Tell that to countless farmers, traders and commoners who will suffer at chevalier hands when they rape their wives and sisters, and pillage their lands with impugnity. No thanks. Ferelden is far from perfect, but I'd much rather live there than Orlais or the Free Marches.
Grey warden article on WoT and Wiki. When there was a blight in Free Marches, there was no help from Ferelden due to the fact that there were not grey wardens there, in fact it was not even united as a country as far as I know. Orlais and Anderfels have the main grey warden encampments..
The only people who sit out of Blights are the Dales. Again, I'd like to see the exact passage, not from the wiki, from WoT.
You are not talking about the right thing because the discussion was about situation in Ferelden and I answered just that
You just tried to convince me of my hate for Ferelden and when I called you out on it, you started repeating yourself, with nothing to back it up but your opinion. Try harder.

I really don't think that Alistair was summoned by Meredith. I think he would have told her where to get off. He was in Kirkwall (possibly having passed through Orlais just to say howdy) on other business and wanted to talk to Hawke. Meredith got there first. And as to starting an international incident - that's where diplomacy comes in. Alistair and Teagan are alone in the Viscount's keep which is now patrolled by Meredith's templars. Meredith was behaving like a loony and I'm thinking Alistair was simply bemused by her behaviour. Sometimes discretion really is the better part of valour.

You do realise that stuff still happens in Ferelden yes? It's just Fereldans doing it to themselves.
