BioWare surely went for gender equality with this game.

Someone always gets the shaft.

In ME3 females had 2 staright and 2 lesbian option, while males had 5 straight and 2 gay options. Relative to that you have 0 reason to complain.

As I have already said plenty of times, it's the trend that's bothering me rather than the occurrence in this last game (even if, as said, DA2 was slighly already leaning towards straigh females).

If we go with your reasoning, this means that for the next 10 years or more we will need to have games with more options for female gamers in order to "catch up" with all the years of inequality.

I would find rather wrong and potentially more destabilizing, this is all I was saying before people started bringing out the flamethrowers.

And I thought this topic might be about all the women in leadership roles in this game. How disappointing.

Gosh, you're right! It sure does suck that this one game does not favor heterosexual men! I mean, it's not like you guys have thousands of other games that panders to your particular tastes! Oh wait... you do.

Yeah, but guess what - this is the forum for DA:I. I think it's reasonable talking about DA:I and not other games, here.

But sure, go ahead and keep ignoring all my other points.

I understand that there are women who like men with feminine traits, this is abundantly clear - at the same time, there are men who like women with masculine traits like Cass. Nothing wrong with that, as I have already stated, I am not debating tastes.

I just said, and I repeat, that there are NO straight "feminine women" (please try to get what I mean here, really, please) options in DA:I, while both Cullen and Blackwall represent straight "masculine men" options.

That's all.

Because to a majority of people what comprises femininity is considered weakness and submissiveness. Which it shouldn't. But it does.
And change doesn't happen in one day.

I find it funny how OP ignores half of the posts who actually contradict his arguments but no, try to defend yourself with arguments like "(even if, as said, DA2 was slighly already leaning towards straigh females)."

Personally I don't find ANY of the companions very classically attractive.

But as a hetero-female the two characters I find the most physically attractive are Cassandra and Vivienne.

Personality-wise, so far Cassandra (I like her hard exterior and soft creamy romantic center) and Cullen (steadfast and awkward).

(And Varric.....That chest hair!)

But then IRL I am a non-feminine female.

No make-up, no dresses, no high heels. Don't give a fig about shopping or fashion. Don't even wear jewelry. I know how to use power tools, have framed and wired houses! Am a geologist who when I work in the field, my work outfit consists of FRs a hardhat and steel toed boots.

And through it all, no matter how  un-typically-feminine I may be, I have never lacked for dates.

So reading through the thread, what I'm getting from the OP is that he wants the 'ultra feminine media scrubbed clean' type of girl. He's bought into the media image of women always being made up and pretty.....even MMA fighters with their make-up and hair, don't end a match looking like they went into it....no matter what Hollywood says....women don't wake up in full make-up with perfectly coiffed hair.

And the reason women like to take on more 'masuline' attributes is because those attributes are usually seen as being 'competent'. Why wouldn't we want to feel empowered by taking on 'masculine' rolls when it is the masculine that is upheld as the powerful, the meaningful, and the worthy? A man is labeled as opinionated or strong, when a woman does it is she's being bitchy....even if they say the same thing in the same tone of voice.

Precisely.

It should not.

And propagating the idea that females "are as able as men" is the most sexist thing to do. But, for some reason, this is what feminist do. And I am labeled as sexist for stating that men and women each have their identity, and neither one needs to overcome or override the other in order to compensate for something.

Unfortunately we have had a number of threads on this subject end poorly and this one seems to be heading the same direction. We are done here.

I am sorry, I tried to reply to as many replies as possible. There were plenty, tho. Sorry if I missed some.
