Kay, so this is about Leliana's quest after the Halamshiral ball and the Adamant Siege.

Does it only play out one way? I tried playing trough it twice both being for and against her killing the sister and such, but no matter what she did it regardless, and to be frank she kinda scares me.

So, how about it. Is this the result of my play style throughout or is it just inevitable?

That's strange, I told her not to do it and she let the sister go. I would guess it's a result of your overall playstyle throughout the game in this case. (Or maybe it's a bug?)

In mine, Leliana killed her as well no matter what I chose. Bakc in Haven, I did allow Leliana to kill the spy and I've heard that option has some impact.

What spy?

What spy?

I got a cutscene with Leliana where she's informed that one of her agents has betrayed the Inquisition and she decides to kill him. You're given some choices (Which I think some of them are to prevent this) or be glad that she's dealing with them. Reading the forums, I've seen that this can happen with Cassandra instead of Leliana, which it didn't for me so it may be which one of them do you talk to at a specific time.

I don't remember that at all. Oh well, maybe it's because of the doubts in the andrastian faith my Dalish voiced over time that has piled up.

I just felt like it was a bit sudden, I mean, sure she's a spy and work with death and such but I didn't feel like she was this.. dark.. before.

Weird, I feel bad now, because even though I got a choice, I still made her slit her neck. My inquisitors a dick.

Initially I approved of killing the girl but hearing Leliana afterwards I kinda felt like I had messed up my wardens girlfriend a bit too much. *Sadface*

Honestly this is probably the one thing that has unsettled me in Inquisition, funnily enough.

Sacrifice Loghain? Okay! Make the mages submit again? Dandy! Leleiana's experiences might have hardened her a bit much? The horror!

It all depends on what you've done with her though the entire game. If you've basically let her kill everyone any chance she gets then she turns out a lot darker after you open the box in the chantry. If you try to comfort her and say it's not her fault she snaps on you and is basically like how dare you try and say that after you've supported me killing everyone up until now.

I suppose that's the consequence, still, the change seemed rather sudden to me.

She accepted my advice to not kill the sister and was very happy afterwards.  But I've been consistently objecting to her killing people all along.

The mechanics behind it is making me curious now I don't remember any instances that stand out where I felt like I reinforced the notion that killing everyone that has been a threat was a good thing.

I did execute a couple of men such as Alexius and the dude that was with the wardens, maybe your court behaviour effects it?

I let Alexius study time magic instead of killing him, but Leliana still killed the sister when i tried both options. I can't remember if there have been other instances where i made her kill someone, though.

You have to tell her to spare the spy in the beginning at Haven, have to tell her she should pull back her scouts after she's blaming herself for letting them die after the Haven attack, and you have to tell her to spare the sister.  There may more may not be a few more choices involved.  But if you do all of those correctly, she will spare the sister and become a much more compassionate person.
