As Adaar I let Morrigan do it cause I was a BFS warrior so I left the weird magic **** to weird magic people. As Lavellan I drank from it cause come on, dalish mage, First to her clan, dedicates her life to ancient elven lore and magic, of course I'm not leaving that to a shady shem who's sounding real eager about it. As Trevelyan I haven't reached that point yet but my plan is following what the guide says Bull will approve of cause I'm gonna pork him in that playthrough

Pork the Bull?  Other way around, actually.  :P

I drank from the well.

I also denied her an OGB in DAO. I live to deny Morrigan ancient powers. It fulfills me.

I drank it, got a different Dragon, Solas was very much against myself drinking but, told me it was a big mistake to be bound to the will of a god. But after beating the game it's pretty weird, its almost as thought he was trying to look out for me.

Or they just wanted to be able to reign in Morrigan whenever they wanted, in which case I'm glad I denied them that much.

Mythal doesn't enslave whoever drank from it yet. The post credit scene leaves the fate of whoever did it open, just because Flemeth didn't want to/needs to at the moment doesn't mean you're save.

I did not drink from the well. My Inquisitor really wanted that knowledge, but being bound to the will of a god, even if at that point it's thought to be a geas from the well itself rather than the actual deity - no, not worth it, even less so for a character who believes the world doesn't need any gods.

What I'd like to know: is there a way to make it so that nobody drinks from the well? I suggested that, but could only choose between Morrigan and myself in the end.

No, but I thought I was going to. I came to the conclusion that Morrigan was a sociopath in Origins because she had zero qualms about, (and actually got mad at you for not) like, sacrificing a bunch of slaves in a blood magic ritual for a minor boost to your constitution or letting a demon possess a little girl. Gross! No OGB for her.

But she wasn't as nakedly villainous in this game and actually seemed borderline altruistic at times, (and understandably interested in averting the apocalypse for her own sake) so I let her drink from the well. My Inquisitor didn't play the first game and Morrigan made her case well enough! Also, Cole didn't like it and I had the arcane knowledge to know that this was a bad idea. And Morrigan still didn't care? Poor thing. Although I'm surprised at how... not particularly sinister being Flemeth's slave seems. Still, poor Morrigan. Sort of.

Anyone let Morrigan drink from the well on a world state where Kieran either does not exist, or isn't carrying the Archdemon's soul?

Or have her not drink, actually.  I'm more curious about the changes to the scene in regard to her son.

I let her drink and she doesn't have any son. After, you have a somehow touching conversation with her mother, who declares that she never had to fear her, because you have to be willing for the soul transfer. And after, Morrigan is just furious of the idea to be at last a good daughter for her mother. Really worth it. :D

I didn't drink from the Well. From the beginning, it felt like Morrigan was supposed to do that, like it was the canon choice, and it felt oddly fitting for me - she'd get ancient knowledge she so desired, she'd learn some humility, and her and Flemeth might even be brought closer together, get understanding, closure.

Mind you, Flemeth _will_ abuse the bond - during our conversation, Flemeth lashed out quite violently(not at me, at the mysterious enemies who killed her) for justice and vengeance, and we all know how manipulative she is. But I don't think she'd go as far as to really hurt or break Morrigan. She seemed really crestfallen when Morrigan told her what a bad mother she was.

Well, that, and I think one of the main themes of the game is freedom. And my Inquisitor chose to be free - of the geas, of the Circles, of the slave tattoos.

I denied her baby making time in Origins. However in this situation, I was all too pleased with letting her drink from the Well.

Considering I stabbed her in Witch Hunt, allowing her to drink could be my apology to her for doing that.

It's just a shame I couldn't stab her, and she falls into the Well drinking it.

I was totally planning on diving in there but when Solas was so against it, I changed my mind. If he had wanted to have it for himself I would've been a bit suspicious but he had been right on so many things so far..

In fact, I think that letting her drink pleases her at first, but she hates the side effect when she discovers it.

No OGB for Morrigan....no Well of Sorrows for Morrigan either.

Although, as the one that drank it, Flemeth did say something about 'wanting to see who drak from the Well, and now that her curiosity was fullfilled,....something about being free.'

I can't quite recall what she said, but it sounded like she set the Inquisitor free of the requirement to serve Mythal.

You can destroy it and then nobody is bound.

No you can't. Stop spreading this misinformation. Either the Inquisitor or Morrigan must drink from the well.

I had Morrigan have a non-OGB child and my Inqui drank from the well. As far as I can tell, it's the same scenario as if the child wouldn't exist. I went to the mythal altar in the arbor wilds, morrigan came with, I summoned Flemeth, nobody talked about Kieran, Flemeth told me that she will help me. Bam, dragon fight. And now I have a dragon instead of Morrigan turning into one.

I prefer the OGB/Morrigan drinks from the well scenario.

Darn, its too bad Hawke isn't there, she may have been able to tell them what Marethari told them about the Dalish belief of Mythal when they brought Flemeth back to the Mountain top in DA-2, since apparently my Dalish elf Inquisitor is an more ignorant of her own culture my own shemmy self is.

I tried to suspend disbelief, and assume its because her clan was closer to the human world, as Solas had posited was the reason for sending her to spy on the conclave in the first place. Still, that's quite the stretch, as my character claims to believe in elven gods and then asks "Who is Mythal anyway?"

Indeed. The only way this could be explained away - shakily - is if that were intended to probe Morrighan's knowledge on Elvhen lore.

Having just finished the game with a Dalish lass, I had her drink from the well. She may not be a mage, but she, as one of the People, still has a birthright to the knowledge within, whereas Morrighan has not.

My elf did, because it was her heritage. I think my hypothetical future mage would, but dwarven or qunari rogue wouldn't.

I refuse to let Morrigan drink from the well, she must reunite with my Warden Mahariel so the three of them can live in peace once again!  She sounded so happy when speaking of their time together, even said Kieran missed his father (the little grey warden crest on his shirt btw is adorable!), so no way will I let Morrigan be eternally linked to Flemeth >.<

No, because I had the feeling that the strings that came attached with this deal were probably going to be bad - and they kind of were, although i guess that depends on how you feel about being forever bound to the will of Mythal.

I did all the puzzles, and eventually Alebalas, I think his name was, said I was worthy to drink from the well. Initally I chose to drink from the well, because I really don't trust Morrigan, even after romancing her as the Hero of Fereldan, giving her her god baby, and following her into the Eluvian in the DLC. She just seems really frickin shady. Anyways, I drank from the well, and immediately regretted it. I got back to the war room with the pissed off Morrigan, and the thought of the price was bugging me.

So I reloaded my save and let Morrigan drink, and then I got to the scene where it turns out Flemeth is the being you would be bound to, and I was like, " Sucks to be you Morrigan." Flemeth seemed to decide to leave Morrigan alone though, so I guess it worked out.
