Had this happen several times in the deserty area, what is up?

Are you taking out the Mercenaries in the area?  While I was running around that area and taking out Merc camps, I noticed Bull would "slightly approve" every time I cleared one.

The "mumbling" is Venatori chanting. And Iron Bull gains approval when you kill Venatori.

 

I think every character has an enemy type they gain approval for killing.

I feel like she would enjoy killing rebel mages, but I haven't found anything that she prefers killing. The only ones that I know of that have specific enemy approval are Blackwall and Bull. I don't really recall anyone else having them.

Ah that makes sense, I noticed this a few times as well.  I guessed it was because I was killing enemies several levels higher than the party.  I haven't noticed gaining approval on anyone but IB for killing mobs though.
