  And thanks the the requested thread title change, I see this thread and try to figure out why someone thinks Sandal is a porn star...

Anyhoo, I seriously hope they don't make Sandal any sort of God.  Sandal is just Sandal, please.  Sure, maybe he has insights that others dwarves lack, but that shouldn't mean he has to be some sort of supernatural being.

I've always been of the opinion that Sandal may be the first case of a Dwarven Mage; there is an as-of-yet unsubstantiated rumour among the lore that the Dwarf King Endrin bore a bastard child to a Elven mother, maybe some of the Elven mother's natural magic carried over. Or he's a dwarven abomination

If this was the case, he would be some sort of partial-Tranquil.  The amount of time that the Dwarves spend with Lyrium could be enough to replace the need of a Lyrium brand, which could also explain his mental state (and his ability to craft runes/freeze Ogres)

But he is clearly not emotionless, so he's most likely not Tranquil.

Sandal is june god of craft, only an evlen god can dream about  "the old lady" Mythal, like Kieren Sandal suffer of Nightmare.

This.

However. Unlike Kieran, June was an archdemon (or his essence or whatever the connection between the Eleven Pantheon and the Old Gods are) that was defeated without a Dark Ritual and reborn in Sandal hence his simple mindedness.

Well I had my suspicions, but this thread pretty much confirms it. Yes, Sandal is indeed an XXX. That sneaky little dwarf, wonder how much he makes for every "enchantment".

Well, to be fair, many of his predictions did come true.  It is possible we are waiting for everything to play out.  All prophecies are open to interpretation, and here is mine over the skies opening wide:

The heavens in fact do part, because not only does the sky open up (giant gaping hole, you know the one I'm talking about) right above the Temple of Sacred Ashes.  The final resting place of Andraste.

As far as the "he" goes, I would say that it could be referring to Fen'Harel.  Once he awakens, everyone will know.

Yeah but why would he say heavens and skies if those meant the same thing? Usually heavens refers to Heaven, or space. It can apply to the skies as well, but in that case why mention skies as well? It implies he was referring to separate things.

The skies opening wide could be the skies of Orlais and Ferelden. The breach occurs perhaps between them.

I'm not sold on Fen'Harel though. When he rises, everyone will see. We haven't seen him yet as far as our characters are concerned. In the game, we see him as Solas. It isn't until the end that we the players see him as Fen'Harel. So maybe the next game is about him rising, but at the beginning of Inquisition's events he was weak when he arose.

I think for Origins Sandal was just a comical gameplay feature (runecrafting/enchanting &vendor) who, because of his popularity, got his comeback in DA II. To give his mysteriousness some meat he got the predictions for DA:I. For me, it's hard to believe he is possessed by an Elven God or a similar entity, but only Bioware knows. Even if, I don't think he was intended to be so in the first place.

I could see the next game be about him rising up.  I mean, it seems like a cliffhanger ending anyways, why wouldn't they go into it.  Granted, they do say that they are done with the South for a while, but even then, the next game could be about an Exalted March (from the Black Divine) freeing Orlais and Ferelden from Elven attacks (similar to what happened when the Qunari attacked Tevinter, the White Divine called an Exalted March to expel them from the North.

I don't think so. The Golden City was once golden, and even Cory confirms that at the end of Inquisition. It must have been corrupted by something, and the magisters do seem to indicate that it was they who corrupted it. We also know for a fact that the magisters are corrupted by the taint. So it likely did come from the same event that turned the Golden City black.

If you're referring to Andruil and her finding the void, that could just be a reference to blood magic. All the elven drawings of elves with red around them, that could just signify blood. It would also make sense that Andruil was cut off from that power and not being able to find it again. It's easy to cut someone off from blood magic, but not so much from red lyrium. Plus, she was said to be cut off from the void and made to forget how to find it. Red lyrium is just blighted lyrium anyway. That comes from the taint. The taint comes from the Black City and the Magisters.

So the only way the Chantry story is wrong is if the taint existed through some other means first, then was taken to the Golden City by some spirit, and then the Magisters invaded the city and found it black and were corrupted by it. But there are too many inconsistencies with that. How was the taint created, the window of blighting the Golden City and the Magisters invading it is short, why would the old gods tell the Magisters to go there if it was blighted, how could the taint get to the Golden City through any spirit or demon when they are said to avoid the Black City because they don't understand the taint, etc.

So you're going to take part of Corypheus' incredulous boasting during his "how can YOU defeat ME" speech as evidence of him recanting his previous claim that the city was already black?

And you're going to ignore the mentions of plague and the Void in the Andruil codex that are obviously meant to be a reference to the Blight?

And you're going to insist that only a spirit could have potentially taken the taint to the golden city despite the fact that Solas and Cole all but tell you straight to your face that the Veil is artificial and Thedas and the Fade used to be one and the same?

Ok. You keep thinking that then.
