I'm trying to beat Corypheus in the final battle in Legacy, but my party won't stop following me and getting fried by fire. I have the hold command on & I've tried changing settings to Defensive & Passive but they just will not stay put.

Why would you want them to stop following you? The fire is easy enough to evade - select your entire party (to avoid pathfinding problems), wait for the fire wall to pass and then just follow. Click the objectives to proceed.

The Wait command does not function properly in DA2 anyway.

You know, I remember this fight being tough, but now that I look back on it, it's not that the boss was particularly strong or had moves that were that great. It was just cheap. It took advantage of the incompetency of your companions' AI and just let themselves get burnt to a crisp. I'm not the greatest warrior in all the land, but if a group of my buddies from work and I found outselves in a situation where a big monster-looking guy shot streams of slow moving fire in a constant, predictable circular pattern, we would just, you know, walk between the streams of fire and not get burnt. Simple. Granted, the part where we actually have to fight him, we'd get killed instantly, but the part where we walk between the fire wouldn't be that hard. For the heroes of Kirkwall who kill dragons and hordes of darkspawn all the time, this particular issue shouldn't be that hard.

The point is, I hate when games make things artificially difficult by taking advantage of inherent weakness in the controls or the game's AI.

Run around a lot. Watch the beams wait until there out of the way then take out the statues one at a time then hit him. Repeat
Waiting until act 3 and having the dog also helps.
