apart from looking a little ugly. Whats wrong?
His arms look like a bit... broken? I dare you try to put your arms like the dude in the picture ![]()
Perfect screen shot of what I was noticing. It looks like the arms are rotated wrong, or set too far in the shoulder sockets. It's been bugging me really bad during these beautiful cut scenes. Hopefully they get that fixed. I'm about to re-roll because of it......
Actually it looks like he has no Humerous bone, or at least no top half..
Solas looks like he's upset that you're not including him in that conversation.
and your Inquisitor looks like he used the wrong spell and bound his arms to his sides.
Hey, it's his fault for facing the wrong direction!
It looks like animation from DA2 - remember those ridiculous broken bodies? DAI (as much as I love the game) is full or re-used animation.
There's a fine line between "Slender" and "Emaciated as ****, this guy hasn't eaten a full meal in years". Like, wut. How the hell is he even carrying a greatsword into battle? Seriously, he has an alarming lack of bones in his upper arms. I cringe everytime I scroll up to look at that screenshot.
What's worse is that his head and neck both look perfectly normal-sized, like someone just stuck it on top and said, "Meh, that'll do". Starting to think that was Bioware's line of thinking when they birthed this... abomination.
P.S. He must have had surgery to remove a few of his ribs, too. That torso looks so squashed. Pls Bioware, make it stop. Pls.
I have noticed that some of the arms on at least elves (in my own playthrough) have a broken rigging on them in cutscenes and staged conversations (they appear fine in other parts of the game).
For me it required a particular set of armor with a particular model of arm upgrades to manifest, but I imagine anything that shares that combination has issues.

Thanks for commenting on this!
I sort of speculated in another thread about the same subject. And I felt kinda bad guessing about stuff I don't have all the information on. I don't want to be "that guy" who knows just enough about a subject (such as character rigging) to shove my foot in my mouth. At least now I know that I'm not just seeing things, and there is in fact a rigging issue of some sort (the scope of which I have no idea).
It could be worse!

Dragon Age's Elfs were always awkward looking.

Not in Origins. For good or bad, they were just smaller humans with pointy ears.
The one thing I think they did better in DA2 is elves. I liked that they made them somewhat unique.
I met a girl who looked like a DA2 elf. She had the weird nose bridge. Most would probably call her a butterface, but I found it charming and she was quite cute to me.

the hunchback look of the female elf model is so terrible to look at it makes it impossible to play my elf warmaiden. What's even funnier is seeing her hold a 2 handed weapon in a cut scene. that's just terrible looking. I'm sure it looks good on qunari but not on an elf smaller then the weapon itself.

I don't mind that they wanted to make them unique, but I didn't like the actual change. They had tiny bodies with huge, misshapen heads and huge eyes. The only ones who didn't look really odd to me were Orsino and Merill, though in Merill's case I saw a screenshot of her romance scene and her body is really strange looking.
There was also one elf in the Dalish camp that was clearly prettier than the others and it was on purpose. There is a forced conversation with her and a flirt line. If you use it, she will dismissively tell you she isn't interested in humans.

I'll have to go check which set I've got Sera wearing. Every once in a while during a conversation like the OP's, she'll snap into T-pose.

I had this same issue with Iron Bull during a cutscene his arm was broken and inside his body and looked hilarious when he walked.
I rerolled a Qunari Mage because the Elf Arms were so offputting. I gotta say, i'm glad I did. Much more fitting for my personality ![]()
