On one end of the spectrum you have Alistair being alive, either as a Warden (romanced or not--tho my Warden Alistair was kind of bitter actually in some places and wasn't that thrilled about being a Warden anymore. Granted my Cous took the throne for himself and Alibear had been exiled AND was being accused of treason by the Wardens but... it wasn't what I was expecting, given how much the Wardens mean to Alistair and how it was one of the few places he ever felt he had a family. I dunno.
There's also King Alistair, either missing his Warden wife OR Alistair as King missing his lover, OR Alistair as king, stuck in a very awkward political marriage to his brother's widow. I'm sure they make it work, but don't tell me it's intensely passionate or not strange lol.
And then of course Alistair the Warden can sacrifice himself--to a fate that I am 1000% sure is a fate worse than death, given the circumstances. (They said "will MOST LIKELY die." To me that has my spider sense tingling. I want to believe this means "eventually finds their way out of an eluvian back in the physical world" but this is Bioware. We are gonna see the person sacrificed there again twisted to some dark and unholy purpose or as a super!Abomination.
