There exists the possibility that Knight Enchanter is too powerful?

I see the problem. I'd heard KE was so OP so much now that when I tried it, I just kinda went yolo with autoattack.

This guy actively uses fade cloak and step to avoid damage and strategically position himself. I'm glad to see KE isnt so OP that you can just faceroll the keyboard. Yes its powerful, but it seems like it does require skill, awareness and positioning in battle - making it a more active playstyle than the brand it has been given as "auto-attack auto-win".

As always, people like to exaggerate. :)

If you watch closely, after a while, you can easily spot the dragon's tells. For example, when she starts swiping one of her legs, she lifts it first and gives you ample time to react. With the right passives, your "evade" abilities have a low enough cooldown to make you feel invincible.

As Cullen says: To work! :)

KE is powerful on its own but isn't better than other classes in terms of letting your teammates survive.

This is starting to sound a lot like "Oh Vanguards in ME3 aren't that powerful because if you just press Charge/Nova without paying any attention you'll die." Well, yeah, if you pay no attention at all, you'll die, that's not really the point.

The point is that KE allows you to go from four characters with dozens of abilities to one character with a couple of abilities as all that's necessary to finish the game.

I know. Isn't that fun?

Also, the true OP class of ME was the Sentinel. Infinite tech armor, access to biotics AND tech powers. I have plowed through playthroughs where I only used a gun for story reasons.

It's a single-player game (with cooperative MP). Please stop.

Ok have to ask, how do I get Viv to become a Knight Enchanter? I've done my specialization quest and chose this for my mage and once I did so I have unlocked some of my companions into have specializations but both Viv and Blackwell haven't specialized yet. All my other companions (yes I got them all) have specializations open to them so why not her and Blackwell??

Get them into a party outside of Skyhold, they will automatically get their specs.

Playing KE without fadeshield is acually sort of fun if abit weak, if they nerf Fade Shield to maby 10-20% of damage done it would probably be fine

Not really. Im level 22 now with awesomesauce gear. I do 1.4k damage per use of the sword thing. So even with 10% i get 140 hp every second, presuming its just 1 dude there.

Well, no... for me it wasn't.

Rather than "which class can beat the game easily" (answer: all) the crucial point was that ME3 Vanguards can beat the game on Insanity (hardest) difficulty by going Charge, Nova x infinity, never dying unless they get unlucky with a synch kill.

Anyway, since Vanguard wasn't modified, I doubt that KE will be so this is all moot.

Personally I felt it was OP simply because of the fact that it reduced the entire mage skill tree to 4 skills - Spirit blade, fade cloak, barrier, and fade step.  And by that I mean you can win the game by using these only abilities properly.

Hence, I'm going to roll a necro instead.

It's kind of like how people complained a shitload about Vanguards in SP ME3... mistaking fun for OP is a common mistake.

I hope you're right.  Overpowered or not, I want to have the chance to experience this build as is after i finish my initial playthrough as a rogue, and I don't want to have to avoid installing patches in order to do it.

So don't get those 4 skills then? I don't have one point in spirit tree at all. Nor do I have fade step. Sure, I could follow the same build most are posting, be completely OP, and bore myself to tears.. But when the class is already OP to begin with why go OP to the max when you could try out a variety of skills and have more fun?

Sera can seriously out damage a KE and everyone else other than perhaps a Tempest Inquisitor.
So, my short answer is no.
My issues with the KE are its cheap tankiness and one-dimensional gameplay, but otherwise I am fine with it.

I've dropped as a KE a few times because I didn't keep my barrier up and got swamped . I dont' have a defence against knockback or knock down, and that can cause the barrier to drop as well. It isn't invincible but it's cool :)

I was one shotted by an equal level archer as a KE. Right in the back. I had full guard, no barrier yet because the fight just started, I fade stepped to the big 2 handed brute and as soon as I got to him...BAM! Arrow in the back. Splatted all over the sand of the Western Approach.
