in my first game (that i stopped) i had found a staff that regenerates 1% of my maximum health on hit with basic attacks but i also found out it gives Hp back when using spells.
In fact get Hp also attacking with the spirit blade that i think is a spell. But now i have doubt that the blade is considered a weapon and static charge doesn't work
Hmm, I don't know either. I need one more level to pick up Static Charge so I can begin testing.
I don't like Knight Enchanter/Flame honestly.
Why not? Overall it synergizes better than any other combination. Clean Burn and Flashpoint can bring Fade Cloak's uptime anywhere from 50% to 100% if you get lucky, which is 1000% weapon damage every time along with a knockdown on most enemies. This is so much more efficient for keeping a strong barrier than Spirit Blade alone.
You can also pick up Chaotic Focus which will add 50% of your current barrier strength to the damage with fire spells. If you dump 4 points minimum into Spirit for Strength of Spirits, you get a 50% bonus to all your barriers, which in turn makes damage from Chaotic Focus even stronger. For a regular mage, this is a great way to increase dps, but on a Knight Enchanter it's also completely self-sufficient, because your barrier power is going to be refunded, with interest, because you are doing so much damage. Winter has almost no advantage over this.
Not with friendly fire on. Gets pretty hairy.
Solved with creative template placement and micro. You can actually put down a Fire Mine at your own feet when you're in close quarters with Spirit Blade, and then Fade Cloak right before it activates. You'll take no damage, your enemies take a nice 1600% weapon damage up the ass (3200% overall with burning damage, before factoring in Chaotic Focus) and get knocked down, you get a nice barrier, and before your enemies can even stand up they take 1000% more weapon damage from Decloaking Blast and get knocked down again, and you get even more barrier.
