Some spoilers

I've just left the destroyed Haven, so try to answer this question without spoilers if possible. There are spoilers here about parts before that.

In past Bioware games you were able to romance multiple characters at the same time until one of them caused a conflict (ie. Liara and Ashley or pretty much your whole DA 2 team). I've been flirting with lots of characters because I haven't settled on one I like yet, and I wanted to see as many side stories as I could (I don't have time for that many play-throughs). I just had the first post-Haven scene with Blackwall where I expressed interest, and afterwards all of my flirt options for other characters disappeared. When I restarted and did Solas' quest, there was a kiss option that hadn't been there after Blackwall. After taking that option, flirt options remained for other characters.

My question is, are there some characters who lock out other romance options at a certain point (ie. Blackwall) and some who don't until later (ie. Solas). If so, then the order is important if you want to see as many as possible so I was wondering if people knew which ones did and which didn't.

Minimum spoilers if possible. If specific quests lock in romances maybe name the quest rather than say what happens in it.

Thanks

I flirted with both Dorian and Bull throughout the first half of the game. Once I initiated an "official" romance with Dorian, Bull's flirtation options disappeared. I slept with Dorian and then ended the romance and Bull's flirting options had returned. At this point, Dorian's still remained, but when I spoke to him about "doing" anything together, he'd comment that I was involved with Bull and he wouldn't reciprocate anything unless I ended it.

Finally, Bull's romance became "official" (ie. sex scene), and Dorian's flirtation options were gone.

So, yes, I think if you initiate a full-on romance with a character, others are locked out. Or at least with certain characters. If you want to romance a different character, go to the one you've been flirting with and see if there's an option to end their romance, which should open up the desired character.

That's good to know, that you can end a relationship and start another. I am concerned though because, at least for Solas, it seems like the opportunity to start the romance was during a personal cut-scene (dream thing) and I'm worried that if I missed it I wouldn't be able to start that romance later. Do you just flirt and restart but without those scenes?

If that's the case, I guess either I'll just choose one for now or make sure not to trigger those cut-scenes until I'm ready to see that character's romance arc. I should probably just choose :).
