i have tried it with warrior and rogue and think it was messy, the battles long and deadly. With my fire mage, 2 mage companions and a tank we kill everything, espescially also when all the mages can cast resurrect 
What u think
is it just me or is mage the most viable class for hard and nightmare?

Well as soon as I got Knight Enchanter and re-speced I was basically a god on normal. I can solo a level 23 high dragon at level 22 with extreme ease. Basically just spamming Spirit blade.
