Hi,

So I could not get my Warden, who is called 'Lordak' to upload. I made a character with the same name in the Dragon Age: Origins Character Creator and ... 'Lordak' is a profanity ???

I created a similarly named character with a slightly different spelling and it uploaded but why was my previous name a problem?

In what language is the world 'Lordak' rude and what does it mean???

I'm thinking the automated profanity detector thinks Lordak is a play on Lord, a catholic word for god. That's the best I could come up with though, Lordak doesn't mean diddly squat anywhere in any book I searched.

Huh.I can't see any reason Lordak would be banned - doesn't look like a Scunthorpe Problem to me.

I think RedUnit it onto something. It most likely bans the use of the title Lord for any character, and it made a mistake with your name. The filter is most likely set as "Lord*" so, unfortunately, it catches anything with Lord in the name, even if Lord is not a separate word. They need to change it to "Lord *" and "Lord_*". By trying to simplify the filter rules they made it a little too broad. Alert the Bioware people directly and I'm sure they can take care of it.

Its funny, I came into this thread thinking someone was saying that Lordak is a curse word. I was going to be like "In what language is that true?"

It doesnt really matter too much though. It might be an old setting that cant be changed now.

I would say it matters, everyone wants to use the name they have in mind for a character. That'a a defeatist attitude. One can't know it can't be changed unless they ask.

True, but that may not always be the case, or even in future products.
