There is a reason, why I never played jump&run games.

 

Whenever a serious RPG delivers content like this, I'm scuppered.

 

Of course there must always be some silly super mario stuff in almost every RPG. A clear sign, that the devs indeed hate mature gamers. That's their revenge!

 

To make it short: I have 21 shards from the Hinterland. The last one I am unable to reach, although I tried mindless jumping for about 30 minutes.

 

I have read, that these shards will be needed later for some reasons.

 

The question is: Do I really need EVERY single shard from all the areas to be able to do these quests?

Which location is the shard in?  I was able to retrieve all of them in the Hinterlands (and have it all on video to boot).

No you don't need shards.

There is a quest later but it's not necessary at all.

So just skip it.

You mean the one on top of the basalt pillars? Its a real PITA, but possible. There's one point where you need to jump from an area further back slightly, because the segment is slightly higher. Took me several tries, but that IS the way you get up there, and works.

there is a staircase in a cave in Forbbiden Oasis that I am not able to climb and there seems to be a landmark on top. how do i get there?

Is it in the upper north west?

yeah, that one. the spiral cave if i remember correctly. i am going around circles and have no idea how to get back up.

 

i only 'escaped' that area via fast travel.
