He'll serve the mages he tried to enslave...I thought that's only fair.

I make him research magic, if I don't have the perk I make him serve the mages.

He was one of the few 'good' Tevinters...he made bad choices but out of desperation for his son and he gave up easily enough without fuss when he was beaten.

Like others I only ever used tranquility on one mage and didn't care how much disapproval I got, he deserved it.

I went with tranquility. I thought that perhaps I might be able to pick his brain once he had been... disarmed. Sadly, we never saw him again.

Made him the magic researcher with the perk. Not because I liked him, but he did basically serve a major part of your overall victory. Without him, you would not know Cory's plans (if you went that route). I just figured, maybe -something- good can come out of it, and if anybody is researching that magic at least it'd be under somebody that knows to heavily invest in counters first.

Without that perk the choice would have been a lot harder for me.

So is that cooldown amulet you get from making him a Magic Researcher for the Inquisition useful throughout the game?

usually execute him. made him Tranquil once just to see the reactions since I was playing as a Mage. Nothing for awhile and then that war table mission "How Could You?" popped up. haven't finished that run so idk the outcome of that

i never left him alive because it was clear to me he was a threat. He showed no remorse and I'm not talking about for that "didn't happen" future...but the subterfuge that occurred beforehand and just working with Coryphenus. it didn't seem realistic to me that keeping him alive would benefit the Inquisition at all.
