I went full crit and I just use the regular Battlemage tier 3 armor instead of sturdy, as the sturdy version didn't allow me to use the nice yellow cloth. ![]()

These are what I'm using for my (t3, crafted, non superior) staff and armor. I just wanted to max out my offense, and after some very, very rough math, with all sorts of unwarranted assumptions, at 4am, I settled on this:

For the rest, I use a Helm of the Drasca (hidden wastes merchant), a superb willpower amulet, and a superb attack ring. I haven't found anything exciting for my belt and other ring, so for now I'm just using a superb stagger belt and a superb bleeding ring.
Of course, I'd rather have a superb spirit rune in the staff, but I haven't found the recipe yet and I didn't want to throw a master in only to overwrite it, so for now I'm just using the basic one.
I haven't finished the game yet, but even without guard on hit (fade-touched silverite) or healing (fade-touched everite), I survived fine when I tried soloing the level 23 dragon, just as a test. I'm playing on nightmare and don't feel like I need any defense beyond fade shield, fade cloak (upgraded), and fade step (upgraded). Anyway, more damage = more barrier!
Here's what I used to craft the staff and armor:

How do u get the Dragon blade schematic, is that part of the Flames set?
How do u get the Dragon blade schematic, is that part of the Flames set?
Yup. It's 6 leather offense and 3 metal offense.
Does anyone know, how the relations of the attack value, magic and willpower are? Do magic and willpower ONLY increase the attack per cent value (plus the additional damage against barriers and magic defense)?
Because if they do it might be better to stack +attack% than magic or willpower if you go for max damage.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the attack increase is all the offense you get from magic and willpower. (Well, you get barrier damage from magic, too, but meh.) And yes, if that's correct, then stacking attack directly is better than stacking magic and willpower. 1 magic or willpower = 0.5% attack, which means that 1.75% attack per t3 material is even better damage than the 1 magic + 1 willpower from dragon webbing.
In fact, assuming that the damage formula is the obvious one (take the base damage of the attack or skill, increase by attack%, and increase that by crit damage% if it's a crit), even t3 crit chance and crit damage are better. Basically, if all you care about is damage, all offense slots are better than even a cloth utility slot. (This is why I went with the dragon blade instead of the 6 cloth offense/3 cloth utility blade.)
Yup. It's 6 leather offense and 3 metal offense.
Do they send u that schematic later on?
Do they send u that schematic later on?
Yeah. I think I got it when I got to skyhold? I dunno what the actual trigger is, though. Maybe a combination of getting to skyhold and being a certain level?
I got the schematics for the weapon and armor when i got to Skyhold, but no weapon parts schematics.
Oh, crap, my bad! Misinformation all over the place. ![]()
No I was human male mage. When I used silverite to make Templar armor wearable by my mage, the entire armor transformed into a super-ugly leathery robe thing. I crafted another Templar armor, and checked how it looked on Cass and Blackwall - completely as it should be.
Then equipped it myself again, and yet again it turned into a monstrosity
This is why I love RPG and RPG players, because we care about such things. I just got a big bump up (better armor) on my Level 13 mage, an elf, but my God- I look like a cross between a bird and a Las Vegas showgirl. Even my toon, a proud elf dude, was like, REALLY? Its a weird deal when your toon stops playing for a moment just to stare at you out IRL. Eeks!
