God forbid if you take 3 warriors and a mage for a dragon battle as all they did was stand around the dragon not attacking as they couldnt decide who should get priority to attack first... or perhaps its a feature were they play rock, paper, scissors to decide yet you don't see as the dragon keeps interupting...GENIUS! I only had this party as I felt like i was leaving bull on the sidelines and wanted cass and black to distract it constantly as my mage through some magic smackdown... ah well

Oddly enough, 3 AI warriors and a mage is the only team I hunted dragons with and it worked out great... although I will admit that the Inquisitor did most of the fighting and I relied heavily on the Jar of Bees, a very OP item... so long as they had enough Guard to stay alive I didn't really need them to do much damage aside from tossing Bees at the dragon. You do have to watch warriors though, since they randomly stop attacking even if there's only one of them in the party and the enemy is a few feet away from them...

you're still bumping?
give it up, they only respond to the trivial issues, or ones that are deemed important by social justice warriors
i've thrown my feedback around across numerous threads so many times but i doubt any bioware dev has read it or will read it... maybe i'll start a twitter gathering, only to get a mundane and insulting response

its such a shame you cant micromanage you're teams behaviours and tactics in nightmare mode, as the action of the game is killed by having to pause every second to tell your party what to do!
Older games are better and vastness of this title is wasted on players that want to play a game at its full extent from point of entry.. first time experience is ruined.
I will not be buying the next title in the series if this game stays at this state, i have already stopped playing single player in disappointment! I would like to see an update which is patched in as I feel I have lost game content from previous titles.
Thanks

Has there been any news on if they will be fixing this ghastly tactical menu yet? My companions went complete mental and just auto attack everything, They WILL NOT use any Preferred or Enabled abilities what so ever.
Man I wanted to play nightmare so bad but it has now been changed to "You got Trolled" mode.
You know, you can hardly "fix" what Bioware intentionally designed as a "feature". Moreover, I am afraid that such a radical change in the current system is impossible because it would most probably require a fundamental combat design change, reprogramming the AI to fit any new desired system, not to mention possible technical difficulties along the way... So do not hold your breath people. I have avoided buying DA:I for now not only because of a nearly non-existing tactics system. As for the lack of a proper tactics system, my explanation is that there are either technical limitations within the Frostbite engine, or Bioware simply decided to dumb it down (again) to pander to the console crowd and their "awesome buttons". The fundamental problem with the game as a whole is that the devs based it off of DA2, not the original DA. Which makes me wonder all the more because they ALREADY have the winning gameplay formula in DA:O. Maybe some 7 million units sold meant nothing special to EA, but who knows what stands behind that decision.
They may have thought of pleasing both PC and console gamers but they ended up with a bizarre "gutted- polished" DA2 version laced with a pseudo-Skyrim open-world gameplay. They took something from Origins and DA2 while gutting something from both in the process. As an end- result, they got nowhere near their intended goal. This is at least what I hear from those who have been so "fortunate" to preorder DA:I.
Speaking for myself, I do not think the game will get any better even with prospective patches, because as I said, it was intended to be like this – to cater to the least common denominator. It is sad to admit this to ourselves, but we are merely a vocal minority here...

Just gonna chip in to say I was disappointed with the minimalistic tactics/behaviours as well. I'm enjoying the game and I can deal with it, but I was expecting it to at least reach the bar that was already set.
That's it. No melodrama.

the behaviors are a handful of select tactics where the "IF" is locked and the "THEN" has very few options, it's evidently then possible to expand and unlock free reign to "program" any list of tactics we so desire... they just didn't allow it, who knows why, it's cutting corners, but why?

Why? Because this way they can cash in on the console crowd, simple as that. You know, those COD boyz and gals are such fat cash cows to milk over and over!

Guess were relying on mods then..great...
Sorry to break it to ya, but they didn't even bother this time with anything to add mod-ability to the game. Best you can hope for is texture replacements for clothes and such. No gameplay/ui/ai etc mods will be ever possible with this game.

really begs the question, why DID they choose to use frostbite? it's a terrible engine for such a game, which isn't known for its flexibility

People are working on it. There's a "beta" camera CT file out already

no, i mean if ppl made it possible and fixed the camera issue then there is hope for other things that bioware broke that ppl can fix. like tactics and respawn timers.
