I actually have a few issues with this.
I really don't like that they had this conversation AFTER the deed. Shows that Iron Bull just went for it and that is troublesome. I also don't like the way Iron Bull shuts down the Inquisitor when quizzy suggested different roles, assuming that he knows what the Inquisitor needs better then the inquisitor himself, very troublesome. While I appreciate the effort on Bioware's part for representation, I'm judging Iron Bull for being an shady Dom.
Of course I don't know what happens when you pick, "you're wrong?"
EDIT: Apparently that means you break up because he's incapable of switching or having normal sex... ok yeah... I have huge problems with this....
Finally, this is exactly how I feel! I found Iron Bull to be hypocritical and manipulative in his romance, with his talk about "respect," his rules, his psychoanalysis of the Inquisitor... So what if quizzie lusted for IB? That doesn't mean he's up for only bottoming and subbing. It certainly doesn't make it okay for Bull to twist it around and say quizzie's the one needing it when in fact topping and domming is the only sex that works for him.
"You don't get to have a say in your sex life because that's disrespectful (to yourself, wut) and I know best. (I will serve you and) make you feel good, but only in a way that I approve." Wow, okay. You do you and I'll do Dorian.
My hang-ups with Iron Bull are documented in a different thread but basically, Lenimph said it all:
I understand how it seems, and is also likely, that the romances are written for quizzies of specific personalities or preferences but weren't they the ones who said "you have complete freedom over who your quizzie is" or something? I think it's with regards to the Chantry, I'm not too sure. Still, even if the quizzie is a total sub and bottom, I find IB's refusal to talk about switching and the quizzie's actual needs, and his psychoanalysis of the quizzie very, very troubling.
