I go for the more chaste relationships, that was part of the reason I romanced Garrus in ME and Josephine in DAI. Also the reason I wouldn't romance Iron Bull. That being said, I have a feeling it was more of a slight oversight on Bioware's part than Iron Bull being manipulative. At least there was a rules talk.

lol!! I hear you on that. Isabela will never put her piratey vixen hands on Fenris. I'm actually thankful for having no desire to romance Merrill or Anders.

 

I'm terrible as when I do romance Merrill or Anders I don't recruit her. Or let her stab us in the back.

Do you act the same with the various other people Isabela sleeps with while you are with her, for example Zevran, or is it just Fenris?

Just because you don't hear the banter doesn't mean it doesn't still happen.

Actually, I got no banter between them on my first playthrough (didn't care enough for Bull to use him), and after the final battle Dorian said he would stay for a while because I'm such a good friend, not because of IB. He never even mentioned him and I only found out that they could get together afterwards, somewhere on the internet. So either their relationship really depends on the banter or Dorian's friendship with quizzy outweighs his fling with IB in that dialogue.

 

I don't see why is it such a big deal if people don't want IB and Dorian to get together - it's their game, they paid for it and they can play it however they want.

I agree! Actually it's just the reasoning behind it some people have that bothers me. Because that would be a big deal if it were true. People can play their games however they wish, though.

I mostly romanced Fenris that voice is so irrestible so I usually didn't have an issue.

 

But when I did my Merrill and Anders romances (mostly for science) I didn't want to hear it so I either had her run off (Fenris reaction made me lol) or I never recruited her too plus that stupid grin Hawke does at her during her recruitment pisses me off.

Oh no - This is a sex-positive education lecture Bioware is delivering to the class here, not an actual exploration - for grown ups, by grown ups - of what the topics they choose to include in their games really look like. That could even challenge beliefs some of the writers must feel good about having.

 

It's patronizing. As expository as a sex education workshop. Players need these things slowly explained to them, see. Surely they will pick up the correct ideas about this topic if we have the characters sit around a table and explain how we think it works.

It is a possibility, but I think the issue is the tone of the post may have come off as a bit dismissive to the people who don't head canon what you do. It is the problem of the internet, things can be taken in a way the original poster did not mean too    

 

(Also, people may have reasoning beyond 'I don't like it' for not liking the pairing, though it really should not matter, people are going to like different things and view the same situation differently. As someone once said, two people view an accident, but there are three different versions of what happened.)

And I HATE their stupid little fling!!!!!  Fenris is MY baby.  Yes I have strong feelings on this matter. 

 

I just don't like it when the writers do this. Aveline x Donnic, yay! Isabela x Fenris, BOOO! If one can be my potential honey, it frustrates me lol Probably because I am a romantic and the "OTP" sort. And M!Hawke x Fenris is my OTP. When I am not romancing Fenris, I can't even recruit him, because my little romantic heart cannot envision a world where they would both exist and not be together.

The IB/Dorian relationship is open to interpretation so I think all opinions on it are valid. "I don't like it" usually comes with it's reasons.
