Please tell me I'm not the only one to have these issues.

 

I was just about to the Welcome to the Abyss quest with my male Qunari mage Ataashi when the broken dialogue bug came back in full force. I had to manually skip chunks of dialogue to continue and after I killed all the mages and demons the dialogue stopped progressing completely after Stroud started talking.

 

So I figured maybe uninstalling the game and re-installing would at least lessen the back, but no it got even worse. Textures stopped loading until minutes after loading, sounds for actions like attacks or spells or jumping were delayed or stopped completely, and it wouldn't even LET me skip dialogue anymore, it would just tell me that content had to install first.

 

Then of course the minor stuff, my Knight-Enchanter Spirit Sword turning invisible after loading unless I when back to Skyhold and left, only to disappear again if I loaded again after dying or taking a ******.

 

The sound randomly giving out when ever I open the command wheel.

 

people talking but either it delayed or their voices never manifest.

 

And there are some bugs and glitches I can't even remember. It's a great game but Holy Hell, when is the next patch coming!?

I've also had the dialog issues in Welcome to the abyss. And during Cassandras romance scene.

Are you also having issues with a lack of party banter?

What kind of issues with Party Banter? Other than wishing they'd talk more often I've had no problems with them.

 

Personally I like anything The Iron Bull has to say, especially if Vivienne is in the group! XD

The conversation issue is now game-breaking for me. I cannot progress through Here Lies the Abyss. Loghaine keeps stopping and I have to keep hitting skip until I reach the part where he mentions Adamant Fortress. I've tried three times now but the game does not allow me to continue beyond this point.

Only noticeable bugs thus far for me: the infamous voice-changing bug when customizing Hawke, and I've had two conversations that I've had to skip through. One was a talk with Dorian at Skyhold, the other was Here Lies the Abyss.

 

That's actually where I stopped last night, figuring a restart would let me continue today. So people are actually getting completely stuck there?? Oh man... 

 

Party Banter has been fine for me, though I've noticed some groups talk more than others. For instance Blackwall and Sera are always going at it, and if you put Dorian in there they'll both go at HIM. Poor guy.

I had the exact same issues as OP. I managed to avoid Stroud stopping by selecting another dialogue option which of course sucks, but at least I'm no longer stuck. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get through Cassandra's romance scene SMH

I just encountered a bug where I had to pick a dialogue but the dialogue wheel arrow is gone.

So everyone just stood there silently. Awkward. I had no choice but to shut down the game.

Voice bug avoidance is simple.  A tip from Mike Laidlaw's twitter page.

At the start of the game, during gender selection, switch the cards from male to female and back and then stop at the gender card you want.

 

Yeah, I know, you need to start a new game....

Yes I had the same problem when I tried to enter Valammar

Load your last Autosave, travel to another area, save there and then restart your PS4, maybe that'll work.

NO it doesn't work for me. It happened to me  more than 10 times. I even tried their f*** so called solution : delete the game, reinstall it. The issue 34878-0 reappears randomly : on the main menu, while I play

I am having this same problem on the Xbone, except I have Alistair. Sounds like it's a problem across all platforms.

 

Have you tried just waiting it out? While they're standing there staring at you awkwardly, just wait about a minute or 2 - it should progress. Worked for me on ps4 and I know it's worked for others across the platforms too.

Bioware really needs to find a way to escape EA's tendrils. Before EA bought them Bioware could do no wrong, KOTOR, Blader's Gate, and Jade Empire were some of the best Bioware had to offer, but while Mass Effect (up 'til the ending), and Dragon Age are great IPs, easily up there with Jade Empire, and KOTOR, EA keeps tainting them with their bullsh*t, I wouldn't be surprised if the Darkspawn are a metaphor for EA poisoning everything they touch.

I think EA's influence is on many levels overrated, since Bioware still values interactive dialogue and RPG stuff at large even if their latest games have been more targeted towards a bigger mainstream.

And oh, KOTOR is by no means bad, but it's not as good as KOTOR 2 story wise for instance, and last I checked all Bioware games even before EA had lots of bugs that were a pain in the ass, only now they are making games that are much more rich in sheer amount of content, way more dialogue, way more variables in total, so getting rid of bugs is that much more tough to do.

Just saying. I think saying "we're good to go" after a dev cycle of 3,5 years is wise enough, when in actuality they'd maybe need 5 years to fully realise their idea and make it bug less, but only Kojima Productions or Nintendo would ever allow themselves to do that.

I can't even progress in the game anymore due to the dialogue freeze bug. It's not random, it occurs everytime i try.

I've had the dialog bugs all over the place too. Glad I'm nonot alone. Having to skip over dialog to get it going again makes me nervous I've missed something. It's even crashed the game for me a couple of times.

Oops. I don't know how to quote. Yes, I tried waiting it out, but it seemed to have the same effect as if I'd skipped the dialog that froze. Where the conversation would pick up after waiting didn't make sense with what was said previously.

Almost every conversation Ive had in here lies the abyss froze. Ive waited it out for like 10 minutes and it didnt progress and then i have to press skip several times and have no idea what is being said. 

 

Same in the Cass romance scene.

Ive also had issues randomly in skyhold where it just doesnt load.

 

Could it be because Ive been playing for a long time???
