Lego: toughest mofo in game. 8/10

Katari: tough mofo 7/10

Assassin: not tough, but can do lots of dmg, high skill cap 6/10

Archer: wimp, but lots of dmg 7/10

Alchemist: skittles can bug all the damn time, she would be amazing but for this horrid bug 5/10. 9/10 if soloing

Necro: wimpy, whiny and pathetic due to power creep 5/10. Sorta sexy accent though

Ele: fairly tough as mages go, lots of fire 8/10

Keeper: see necro description, except more wimpy, more whiny, and more pathetic. Static cage and disruption field is decent, just not much fun for me 4/10

Hunter: full draw + exploding bow is so fun. Needs stealth autocrit or stats to make full use of it 7/10

Arcane warrior: toughest mage, whines about ham, boring, worst lvl 1 character 6/10

Templar: cute and adorable, wombo combo + bitter axe hilarity, boring as sin at level 1 7/10

Reaver: insane damage, tough as the players skill allows. 8.5/10

Isabela: funny banter, sexy and witty, decent skills 8/10

Avvar: old and fragile, but incredibly deadly 9/10

Virtuoso: hilarious banter, mobile mage, can support or dps effectively 8/10

Silent sister: rivals Lego toughness + good damage. Her banter never gets old either. 10/10

Saarebas: can solo just about anything at level 1 with enough stats and/or skill. Later on becomes even more powerful 10/10.

Especially if we're all at the flag waiting to drop the banner.

I agree with this. As I said earlier, that's the only thing I won't tolerate because that person is just simply wasting everyone's time.

ROFL she is very tough indeed but what can possibly rival Lego's God Mode? :P

Archer: wimp,  7/10

Keeper: more wimpy,  whiny, and more pathetic.

Reaver: insane damage, tough as the players skill allows. 8.5/10

Silent sister: Her banter never gets old either. 10/10

The Archer is extremely squishy because he generates lots of attention, even when equipped with the amulet of Accord. Is it the same with you too or is my luck always that bad?

I can't stand the Keeper too, for the stated reasons. Argh. She should just return to her Kklaan. -_-

How do you manage the Reaver? She's the only chick I'm afraid to play with because she can't generate guard and uses health to fuel her attacks. I am a noob as it is. :/

Silent Sister's banter. Lol that made me chuckle. :D

She has devour, and later, rampage, both of which heal you. She's the only character in the game with healing abilities! You can play her safe with one HoK ring as well, and since she cuts through enemies like a hot knife through butter, it will constantly replenish health.

More advanced players sometimes like to "redline" her with no HoK, dropping low on health to gain more damage. For me, I'm lazy and just use one HoK ring with rampage to manage her health.

Her health isn't as hard to manage as you may think. Even at moderate to high health she still dishes out a lot of damage.

My only problem with her is that dragon rage can get boring after a while. Not as boring as the old AW spamming spirit blade however.

If you gave her savage thorn with bloody bargain, used flashing steel with guard upgrade, with war horn and/or war cry, she generates guard simply to fast for enemies to break through, in addition to panicking enemies to keep them from attacking. Add in her salty sea dog, turn the bolt, blade and Bear mauls, she's got insane toughness, with quicker killing than Lego.

Of course I build her for higher damage than going this route, but built properly she can become a rock.

Now how I feel about the characters:
Lego: He was my favorite but is now my second. Was the first banner I got and have played hundreds and hundreds of matches with him. Beat my first Peri Dragon with him when they came out (solo too, everyone else died when it was at half health..room forever with a Lego hitting basic attacks for like 400 lol). Super sturdy but can deal some decent damage (like 100K Shield Bashes ;D )
Katari: Super sturdy, wasn't a big fan until I got my con up. Knockdown King
Assassin: just that. An assassin, stupid strong damage.
Archer: Leaping Shot, Spring Trap :)
Ele: My favorite Mage. FIRE!! And lightening bolt of course :)
Keeper: blah
Alchy: super tough to kill, Fire Flask + Shadow Strike or Flank Attack
Necro: Ew
Reaver: So powerful! She is my favorite character. Amazing damage and survivability, even at low health. Nothing gets past my Reaver if it is in striking distance.
Templar: Holy Hand Grenade
Hunter: Full Draw Nuke :)
AW: is he immortal? Might as well be
Avaar: he is a super dps dealer. Lots of damage, a bit more fragile than the rest but easily doable
Silent Sister: Cheesus! She is a tough old ******
Virtuoso: Power Cord and Hot Licks! So much damage
Saarebas: took me a while to get into, super strong character. Attacks are a bit slow though

Will enumerate as well. ;)

1)Lego - Starting out, knowing how squishy I was, he was my go-to character. I built him to take hits and grab agro....straight tank. Now, I do mix it up a bit more. I generally have two offensive moves on his bar, where previously I would only take one (big chicken - that's me! ) 8.5/10

2)Katari - I have only promoted him a couple of times, mostly due to the Avvar. Since I got the Avvar in my little "starter kit" chest, I gravitated towards him for two-handers. However, I have begun to really appreciate the Katari and I absolutely love his chitchat! Now that I have better weapons in general - for two handers - he will get more love from me. 8/10

3)Assassin - I think I have a love/hate relationship with our bird lovin' murderer. She can get in some of the most deadly hits, but damn! Get your timing wrong, and you may leave her exposed. Even Tuesdays can kill this little parakeet. 6.5/10 (I should note, she was the first character I took into a Perilous dragon. So very, very sorry @Ispan and @Banxey. )

4)Archer - Like the Katari, I was drawn to the Hunter due to picking him up in my first Superb chest, so it took me a while to get around to play him. Once I did though, pure fun! Like the Hunter, I ended up playing him close up vs ranged. Especially after getting Opportunity Knocks. Even though he doesn't get Stealth, like the Hunter, with OK I almost always have Leaping shot up and ready. That gives me plenty of chance to litter the grounds with upgraded Caltrops and Spike traps. 9/10 (BTW - I admit I never use to upgrade Caltrops, but per the advice of @3y3vr3, now it is a must! Self-rez from bleeding. Woot!)

5)Keeper - Keeper has become a mainstay in the group that I commonly play with. The synergy you can get with a support Saarebas, and making "skittle snow-globes" with an Alchy and Disruption bubble, is too much fun. I slap on the storm belt, and throw out Static Cage and Chain Lightening, like confetti. We tend to use relatively balanced teams, so even those pesky electricity resistance enemies will get their comeuppance. And she is great for a backup barrier. ;) 8.5/10

6)Elementalist - Rion cracks me up! That alone would make me play him. But the bonus is - FIRE! He can also be built frost heavy, to take advantage of the frost pact belt, which makes him very versatile. The snarky mage boy is high on my list (and Death Syphon rulz!). 9/10

7)Alchemist - Luka! Love her to absolute bits. :D I used to build her more like a traditional DW (whatever "traditional means" :P ), but now it is all about Skittles, Flask of Fire, and Frost Flask. 'Splosions everywhere!! Bonus - banter. Oh yes. 9/10

8)Hunter - The voice of silk. Mmmmmmm. Toss in his up-in-your-face skillset (for a bowman), and he hits all the right buttons for me. I get some of my favorite elements from this dulcet archer: Spike traps, Mines, and Razor's Edge. Sweet bajeebus! And being able to lay down multiple traps while stealthed - bonus. ;) 9.5/10

9)Necromancer - Here is my first snag, amongst the characters. I only played two matches with her, and never promoted. Seems a bit unfair to judge her, based on that, but here it goes. I loved Horror in DAO/DA2, but I am not as fond of it in DAI. She also has no form of barrier/"oh-crap!" spell (well, minus the "sometimes it works" ice shield). I do find her grumpy attitude rather enduring, oddly enough, but that doesn't motivate me to play her. Maybe when I have a couple dozen more Con points, I will spend some time with her. (remember: me big chicken, sometimes.) 6/10

10)Templar - Huggable Belinda. Wombo-Combo. She is a bit of a one trick pony, but she is too adorable not bring out to fight. Especially fun if there are two Belinda's in the party. Conversation gold! 8/10

11)Reaver - Everything about this character I should love. Snarky attitude, reluctantly helpful (yet helpful nonetheless - even offers to assist Luka on finding that cave with the glowing lichen. LOL!). She also has mad skills. Unfortunately, it is a case of L2P, for me. I have promoted her a couple of times now, and I still have issues with my timing. Since I am just a hair over 40 in CON, it is easy for me to go down, if I am forgetting the cardinal rule: ABE = Always Be Eating (thanks for the reminder @xrayspex73). My lower score for her, really is due to my poor playing (and she isn't the only character that suffers from this), but here it is...7/10

12)Arcane Warrior - Good banter, and a hard hitter (especially with the Storm pact belt). I either rule with him, or my timing gets off and he goes "splat!". He too is a bit of a one trick pony, if I am using the belt, but if I don't use it, I have more confidence to mix up his ability slots. Which I count as a good thing. 8.5/10

13)Avvar - Squishier than other warriors? Yes. But great voice lines, and seriously fun talents, make him my favorite warrior. I die more with him, than say Corbin or Belinda, but those elemental skills! It's crack, I tell ya. I have played him numerous ways, and all of them have been very useful. Once again, a versatile Agent. 9.5/10

14)Duelist - "Oh my!" Issy is an awesome character......whom I positively suck at playing. LOL! So happy when others bring her out to play, but she ends up dead more often than not, when I am at the controls with her. Once again, when I finally have some higher stats, I will play with her more. Until then she gets a 7/10 for the same reasons as the Reaver.

15)Virtuoso - ZITHER! is fantastic, but - "Once more with feeling!" - L2P. Bah! I am terrible with remembering songs, and being quick with the keyboard to switch things up. I end up just repeating two songs, and doing basic attacks. And KOing. A lot. The trend continues with this character - 7/10

16)Silent Sister - No banter. No tongue. But Pala is like a pinball machine! So much fun to play. My favorite thing to do, is drag a bunch of baddies into a room, Charge/Throwing Knives/Hidden Blades/Spinning Blades, rinse repeat. Charge comes up often enough, that you can do it multiple times, in between the other skills (so long as stamina is kept up). In the words of Luka, [i]"Best thing EVAR!"[i] 10/10

17)Sarrebas - Many, MANY ways to play her. And, the secret to our success on getting the Legendary Dragon Slayer Title. Having a Saarebas in the group (beyond level one, that is) is a sure fire way of getting support, team-combos, and damage, all in one very grunty Qunari. She is boss, and a blast to play. 10/10

And there it is....my .02. Cheers!

Just like unkillable =/= god mode, a monster health pool also =/= god mode.

Only walking fortress and fade cloak deserve to be called god mode!  :D And of course, walking fortress being the superior form of god mode between the two.

Saarebas is my favourite simply because her leap and glyphs will get you across the map faster than anyone else... And time = gold. (okay maybe time =/= xp. I know my friends complain all the time that speed run gets us far less xp and etc...)

Here are my takes:

1) Katari:  Biggest of them, nuff said.

2) Avvar: Bigger than most, and with the horns on the helm, he could rival the Katari

3) Saarebas: Tall gal, colorful clothes... and Shackles!  What not to be loved?

And those were my evaluation on the Big characters.

Definitely not the only one. Not including HoK, which everyone has access to...

Ele + Necro: Death Siphon

Virtuoso: Sing a long

Sara: Upgraded Fist

That's just off the top of my head.

If i could choose a 5th ability, i'd take charging bull.

In the single player mode, I always started charging to build guard and then DR until almost dead with safety. Could solo facetank nightmare dragons.

On the other hand, in multiplayer, we have rampage most of time.

Reaver is my favorite char, although AW and SS are my strongest. My other favorites are the Archer(with longshot its even funnier) and all other warriors.

1)Lego - Best tank in the game hands down. I have not played the Lego much, but everyone I see playing them are absolute damage sponges. Damage output is pretty low, but can be increased via attack animation cancellations.

2)Katari - No idea what he is capable of. Only promoted him once. I think he is a two-hander. That's all I got.

3)Assassin - High DPS if you play her correctly (which I don't). Positioning is everything with her.

4)Archer - High DPS and his pocketful of jacks are game changing if used correctly.

5)Keeper - I used to think she was kind of useless because as a support character, her barriers are slow to cooldown and are not reliable enough to consistently protect the party especially compared to the Saarebas and Virtuoso. After seeing what she is capable of in a group setting, I now think she is incredible. Static cage is game changing especially if used in conjunction with Elemental mines or other high damage AOEs. The snow globe is great too.

6)Elementalist - Barely played him, but see others use him to great effect. Great AOE damage and CC with panic.

7)Alchemist - Never played her until recently, now I love her. Fire flask+mines and frost flask make her an incredible DPS class with CC. She is also cute as a button (are buttons cute?).

8)Hunter - Starting to have too much fun with the chain. Zip in, plant mine, leaping shot away, rinse and repeat. Good times. Like the saarebas' leap power, the chain can get you into some weird areas of the map for better or worse (mostly worse).

9)Necromancer - Hands down the worst character at least in my hands. I have only promoted her around 5 times and I still could not find a good playing style/combination of powers that worked for me. The only one I play with regularly that kicks ass with a Necro is 3y3vr3 (but she is good at every class).

10)Templar - Good tank, great attitude. She is just so cheery and polite. Oh and wombo-combo. Absolute adorable. "Don't wooory, weee'll proteeect che!"

11)Reaver - High DPS and tanky if you play her right. I know a lot of the advanced players abandon devour, but I still find it to be absolutely necessary unless you have super high promotes and/or high HoK gear.

12)Arcane Warrior - Stupidly OP class once you get a storm pact belt. Boring as hell to play as well, but the absolute best at soloing. Can solo any difficulty at level 2 (probably a little hyperbole, but you know what I mean). This guy needs to get nerfed.

13)Avvar - Just started playing him. There is a high skill curve with playing him, but if you know the enemy weaknesses, you certainly will have the element that they are vulnerable to. Seems like a fun class to learn.

14)Duelist - One of my most played characters. She also has a high learning curve. For my playstyle, elusive is EVERYTHING. I use elusive as a defense rather than a nuking attack. Since getting her a Hakkon, she has become more of a ranged fighter than previously. I am still not convinced on her effectiveness on Nightmare and above, but I love playing her.

15)Virtuoso - High learning curve but is one of the most versatile support classes in the game. Can be super offensive too with a storm pact belt and power chord. I notice that a lot of the high level players do not use barrier at all, which is the complete opposite way that I play him. I spam the hell out of barriers and buffs. Sure, I might not get any kills, but the party will just rip through the map in no time flat.

16)Silent Sister - Another stupidly OP class. She is damn near unstoppable even at level 1. Fun to play but I sometimes feel guilty playing her (not as much as the AW, but still). Hidden blades with an SS = win.

17)Sarrebas - The deepest most versatile class in the game. Can be whatever the team needs. High learning curve in learning and developing good chains of powers that work well together. This class is probably OP as well, but the learning curve and slow casting animations do give her windows of vulnerability that the AW and SS have no problem with.

These are my thoughts, although I am sure all of you promotion lords on these forums are rolling your eyes.

Reaver is, hands down, the best character IMO. She has stupid Damage (ie. my 20K Dragon Rages). I don't abandon devour. It is the only Health regen I have on her. No HOK, I rarely basic Attack as well. http://forum.bioware...-nm-solo-video/
Check it out. It is a very outdated video though xD

I know this is a minority report but I just can't get into reaver. Mashing one button over and over again is boring to me, unlike say Katari, where there is a rhythm and flow to charging bull, mighty blow, pommel strike, and before the PI amulet, combat roll.

Oh definitely. Both are fun in their own way for me. If someone gets mad about your opinion who cares lol. I found a new love in Katari after I played him again a couple weeks ago. He is really survivable. Like...lvl 1 in NM is pretty easy xD

I tend to agree. I also feel the same way about the AW. Just spamming Chain lightning can get boring.
