I am really loving this game, enjoyably so much fun, costing me many sleepless nights . However I am entirely new to the Dragon Age experience a noobie. I am poitively missing out, on some functions, and advice which will make my experience better.
I am suffering with the nightmare difficulty.
I am playing as a 2 handed dwarf warrior with some points in tactics for death grip etc, I am level 10. I have managed to basically complete all of the Hinterlands except the area with the bear claws to the east which is too high level, and the dragon area, lyreium quest opposite Redcliffe. Apologise for any spoilers not my intention. I choose to aid the mages fully completing their line. I went to Storm Coast completeing most what I could excluding the islands, because I saw a big nasty in the distance and carefully opted to go around. I went to the shard place in a desert completing everything I could, except for opening the temple and a dugeon quest from the giver at the second base camp. Who sends my party to a dungeon which endlessly unleashed spiders, after killing 9 of the level 12 spiders, I am overrun, noticing twice their numbers in red dots. I have been to Forlon Swamp, but it seems to be too high level. Up to a point in the swamp near the start where after lighting a beacon unleashes hell on my party.
The next story mission quest is sealing the breach with the mages aid. However I am too low level with nowhere really to go, as it cannot be achieved easily on minimum level of the nightmare difficulty?
What tips can you give me please, to help my game? I am thinking of restarting, and creating a rogue or mage. I don't think I cannot do nightmare without a very high spirit mage, combining a few points with a destructive talent, to boost overall damage. But really I need to choose other options, when upgrading the AI talents. Getting a fhigh speced spirit mage early. Also choosing much better options, these I have somewhat blundered through on my first game attempt rather randomly.
I haven't noticed any talent repec options? I find pausing combat helps. I am confused why this makes some talent functions unavailable on selected party members once paused? Even if they have their combat moves available and not on cool down. I find it best to pause combat, to move, change targets, pop potions, throw grenades, give strategic commands. However aside this function seems quite limited when using individual abilities that are often on cool down or unavailable. I know there is gear that helps with CD's, potions that give stam, mana etc.
Please advise, regards. I do not want to restart if I can avoid. I didn't choose templars because I tried them already via a load and Envy was really mean. I was only level 7 though, not 9 when going to the mages.
PS apology for my english I am slightly dyslexic, and my grammar tends to suffers. Thank you
