Exactly why the Warden wasn't included?

If Bioware gave the option to customize Hawke before you meet him then same could have been applied to our Warden. It doesn't matter if they had many voice variations in DA:O, they could have simply gave in two versions of male and female like they did to the Inquisitor.

It is disappointing. Even a small cutscene of them being awesome would have been great.

For story's sake, it was easier to have Hawke back, plus he has a significent role in the story.

The Warden however, is on a mission. I would put the spoiler tags in and say it but I don't know how :P

It does open up the possibility for a dlc though

Lots of reasons really mostly i imagine the character had no voice so they'd have to hire one and people would be like "My warden wouldn't sound like that" etc etc. It's also such a separate story from what is happening and it was pretty much complete. Warden saved the world and rode off into the sunset where as Hawke has connections to what is happening.

This was just an excuse to keep him out of the game.

Because they didn't want to.

There's your answer, and it's all the answer we need.

After playing the game I'm relieved our Warden wasn't, gawd knows what BioWare would've put him/her through!

It's difficult to make The Warden a major part of the story when you can kill them off in DA:O - I guess they could have put in the Orlesian Warden instead but sounds complicated. I'm hoping for a DLC. It's a bit disapointing to see all these cameos of everything from all the other games but somehow all we get is a letter from the Warden "brb -busy".

That's the dumbest answer you can give to anyone regarding any subject.

That's basically it.  The Warden can end up so many different ways in Origins -- more if you include Awakening -- that it's really hard to write for him/her.  Hawke always ends Dragon Age II alive and in roughly similar position.

It's honestly the only one that can be confirmed.
They didn't feel he should appear physically in the game...
So they didn't

The Warden and the one from Awakenings are basically the same one though, so that doesn't really matter. Personally, I think they should have either left them out completely, but created more of a mystery about them, or had an epic cutscene(which wouldn't even need VO) which shows them leading a Grey Warden charge or something during a battle.

Too many variables. Yes, the warden could be dead, but he/she was also unvoiced and without main voice tones, unlike Hawke. They wouldn't have been able to recreate his/her personality, lots of people would have been upset (although are bsn people ever not upset? :P ).

Creating some cool scenes with the warden would have been possible anyway, like making them appear in battle or during the ball in Orlais or something. A masked warden dancing with the inquisitor, now that's something I wanted to see. But alas, they chose not to.

because for some odd reason Bioware views Origins as the worst game in the series even though it's their best selling in the franchise.

Even with Hawke, most people say, "My hawke wouldn't say that!" Think about the Warden now. Also, HoF as NPC? NO! NO!!

If you work with Morrigan or do the 15hour 'mission' through Lelinana,

you get a glimpse of what happened to the warden

He (yes, I played the demon baby warden) is in search for a way to ward off the calling.

And possibly working for more.

What I think is that he is a similar figure to 'Revan' in KOTOR 1. Even flemmeth understands him to be some what of a recognizable character.

SO my theory is that he 'knows' or 'suspects' that there is something higher at stake.

Instead of fighting with the inquisition, he wants to extend his life and fight with the 'real' threat (that being flemmeth or Solas.)

If this theory comes true, he will take part in later DLCs or in the latter instalment of the DA series. It makes sense... and I think

that would make more sense because  the hero of ferelden is  possibly the eldest, and the wisest amongst the heros ( inquisitor/hawke/the warden)

That's how I pictured it anyways.

But I do agree it kinda sucks not being able to see him.

it is not only just that its the mission that the warden sets off for. sure finding the cure for the calling sounds personally important. but if your warden would receive a message regarding that they need help against a enemy that could destroy the world. You would have dropped everything you were doing and traveled as fast as you could back to ferelden.

I Still believe that bioware might be saving the warden for a special occasion.

Because it would have been terrible. People who ask for him expect him to turn up every bit cliched heroic as they played him.

When just as likely they would have been madmen working for Corypheus that you kill in a mediocre boss fight for their pants. And the Arcane Warrior wardens would all be wearing robes.

Well THE Warden could've taken the place of Stroud/Alistair/Loghain in the Grey Warden story arc.....

But imagine the shitstorm that would've been if you had to choose between Hawke and the Warden in the fade.

Wouldn't have been a hard choice for me :P My warden would win 100% of the time, no matter how much I love my Hawke. Anyways, I get the impression there's something planned, just a feeling. They're really pushing the Blight Clearing aspect of the Wardens and there's alot of things happening in the background with the Order, I would love to see a return to the issues concerning the Order, not just Blight focused.

That's just me though, I really like old lore and how it came to be in game settings (Legend of dragoon being my favourite for this particular reason).
