Shamelessly putting this here.

Lmfao that made me laugh so hard.

Thankfully my first attempt with inquisitrix Adaar was very successful.

Just be mindful of your proportions, OP.

Split his face into 3 sections. The hairline to the top of the eyebrows is section one.  The top of the eyebrows to the bottom of the nose is 2. The bottom of the nose to the chin is 3.  Make all three sections roughly equal in size.  Making one larger than the other can add more character to the face, but if you want a classically handsome face, you need to make it proportionate.  I suggest an oval-shaped face, with slightly squared jaw.

Stubble is your friend. It adds definition to the jaw and keeps the face from looking too flat and featureless.

Speaking of flat and featureless, I avoid the baby smooth complexions. It makes the faces look too plastic-y and unrealistic. The complexions with a slightly more mature look, with some lines on the forehead and around the eyes look more realistic, and since there is no stigma against men showing a bit of age, it doesn't detract from their appearance.

I gave mine the freckle complexion. It seems to fit him. Honestly, he's the best one I've made. Except screwing up the eyes.. I wanted blue but they ended up purple. Thank you green fade background. The rest of my attempts have been weird to say the least. My Hawke ended up looking like a potato with a mop of blonde hair.

And somehow making a female character is even harder for me.

Yeah here's my two cents regarding character creation and racial customization.

I have rerolled a human male character 30 times, trying to make one that at least looks acceptable to me. As of now, no success. This is a serious bummer for me as it defeats the whole purpose of an  RPG to have a character you cant bond to. and human is my favourite race. I've tried and tested every single nook and cranny in the CC screen and my inquisitor always ends up looking square faced, glossy and because there's no other way of putting it, a bit of a turd..

So, I tried going for a Dwarf male like my character in Origins, I got the facial look right, but then I realized how silly Dwarves look in this game with their hornswoggle combat animations and general lack of seriousness. They were so much better in Origins, IDK why this is, does anyone else agree?

Qunari are at the opposite end of the spectrum, they are just too unrealistically tall for me to want to have one as my main character. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the race and if I do play further into the game I look forward to meeting Iron Bull.

I've never taken an interest in Elves, to me they are just a slightly shorter and skinnier version of humans with pointy ears, but I haven't tried to seriously create one.

If Bioware don't patch/dlc some more customization options I'm thinking of buying the game again on PC because there might be some mods available.

Can anyone relate to what I'm saying I know I am quite possibly an extreme example but I do want to play the storyline and finish the game, but I also cant spend 80+ hours with a character I simply cant bond too.

Cheers, Ina.

Yes. Last night I made four inquisitors, three human and one elf. Each time I was satisfied in the character creation screen, but when the game started they all were looking the same. I soooo wish there were codes to be used here just like in Mass Effect 2 and 3. That would make it much easier (and faster) for the likes of me to start a new proper game.

sigh

After what happened with Face Codes in ME3 I don't think we'll ever be seeing that feature again, ever, in any future Bioware games. What a mess.

My second attempt came to be quite interesting and characteristic.. I wanted it to look a little bit more like me, which it does from this angle, but from other expressions and angles it ended up looking a bit more like a friend of mine!
