I like the mounts solely for their looks but they are a laugh right? i mean they don't really speed up ur travel much.

and they can fall from tremendous height without so much a scratch and u can use them to jump cliffs (u normally cannot) and they can suddenly appear on cliffs that no horses should be able to go up to. and then they become so hard to control u fall down that cliff immediately but not lose any ealth.

that being said, there is something bad about those shards quests because sometimes u have to jump mountains to get them and there are no stairs or stones for u to go up safely. u kind of lose the immersion there because ur inquisitor just jumped down great heights to collect a shard struck there.

and also, in the forbidden oasis, it is so hard to make out whether the shards are on the hills or groves. i hope something can be done to fix this and i just cannot find a way to climb up.

any help on how to get to the landmark at the top north-west would be much appreciated. i spent 5 hours on his map just to get to that point and still can't and i still don't how to get to few shards that are struck up there.

The mounts can be useful, but the problem is there are usually materials and other stuff to pick up. So it pays to take u time going from A. to B. rather that just sprinting there.

All the shards are reachable, it's just that a number of them are jumping puzzles. Which, I dunno. YMMV.

But I agree with the OP in that the maps could be more useful in terms of conveying elevation information. I have a hell of a time getting around the impassible mountains in the Hinterlands and figuring out which damn level ANYTHING is on in the Oasis. It's frustrating for its own sake, especially when the map makes it difficult to figure out which route to take. Although I love the addition of the trail showing you which way you've come, that's a great idea.
