Anywhere I think. They are random drops. Just go whereever there are venatori spellbinders.

If you have gotten Dorian as a companion, try doing his Rogue Venatori comp quest. Pretty sure they will drop the books you need. There are three camps in the Plains zone for this as well but I've read on the EA help desk forums that folks have been having issues collecting books from those camps. I got all mine from the Plains and someone on the help desk posting said they got one from his quest, but I ended up going Knight Enchanter in the end ![]()

Got my second in the hissing wastes so I think I'll try around there again. I completed dorians request.

Me too. I'm Lv. 14 now. Almost seems a waste.... I lost 5 levels trying to get a tome. Ugh.
Am I really bad or is this quest, just really, really buggy? I mean.... the journal entry even states stick to the 3 areas.... not "better look for a random drop" Plus Hissing Wastes is a LOT of Power to use.

Ok I found another group with a Venatori mage that could drop a book ...I was returning to the Forbidden Oasis to head to the temple where you turn in the shards to open doors and there was a group there again this time a Venatori mage and his bodyguards rather than the bandits that were there originally. Perhaps if you still need a book these guys will be there for you and the mage will drop one for you.

Wow, I really need to start a new game and make a Rift mage ...just came upon another group with a Venator Spellbinder in the Oasis
Pic below so folks can see where the camp just popped up for me. I wonder if these camps will show up until I take care of the Venatori quest I have to do still?? anywho, hope this helps.

edit: on a good note for me, both of the latest camps I found had a rare mage ring drop for loot. I was beginning to think the game was trolling me in that it was only dropping warrior rings ...this one has to be the 5th ring for mages I've found whereas I've found almost two dozen rare warrior rings drop in my playthru so far

This quest actually pisses me off. It should not be this hard to find simple things.

I finally found the stupid things. That youtube video is actually really useful, because it shows you exactly where those Venatori are. I was looking in roughly the right places, but never quite got to the exact locations.

I'm about to hit level 20 and I have yet to find the 3rd tome I need for this specialization. Have been to the 3 parts suggested in the video and no luck. I think I killed the Grove group before I got the quest so I screwed myself. Have killed multiple other Spellbinders with no luck. At this point I'm just holding out hope that either: a) it'll finally drop or
they'll release a patch to fix this before I finish the game. I don't really have any interest in either of the other specializations.

I picked up my third Venatori Tome in the Western Approach. The key is just to find a Venatori mage. It doesn't have to be in the Exalted Plains.

Hello everyone.
I would be delighted if someone could help me on this one.
I was late to receive the Class Specialization quest (level 15).
I am a Mage and want to follow the Rift Mage specialization.
However, I had already secured all the exalted plains and killed almost all
the Venatori in the hissing wastes.
I went to the western approach and also secured the keep.
So far, I only managed to get my hands on one only tome.
Please tell me there's a solution in this.
There can't be such a black hole in the game system.

There are respawning Venatori mages in several areas such as Hissing Wastes, Western Approach and Forbidden Oasis. The three named locations in the Exalted Plains are guaranteed to have the tomes - others have a chance to drop them.

Still Ruins in the Western Approach has several Venatori mages, so chances are you should get at least one tome there.

No, they aren't guaranteed to have the tomes. In my first game, all three had the tomes, and gaining the specialization was easy. In my second mage game, two of the venatory spawned, but the third never did. It didn't matter how many times I went back to that area in Halin'Whatev, the Rifters simply did not spawn. I finally gave up and went to the Forbidden Oasis where the very first group of Venatori I stumbled across had a spellbinder, and he had the tome. And after I got the specialization, I found about 8 of the damned things in the Hissing Wastes. Natch.

No, they aren't guaranteed to have the tomes
Specializations are guaranteed to spawn at the known locations.
